What will viewers of reality television shows be watching in nine day? Well, if an American Idol fan, that is the day that the reality singing competition will begin. According to the Detroit Daily Tribune on January 6, the fans are snatching up tickets at venues around the country for the special premiere held at theaters next week.

“Retweet if you'll be watching the #idol premiere in 9 days. #ThisIsReal,” tweeted American Idol from the show’s official Twitter account. Attaching a picture to the message, it’s obvious the theme of this year’s season is all about the dreams of the contestants.

While American Idol has changed up the judges, there hasn't been too much revealed about the chemistry of Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. The three stars definitely get along, but the fans don’t know to what extent or how that impacts the contestants. It also isn't known how the new judges plan to help the contestants with their feedback.

American Idol might be looking at a serious comeback. Coming off a lackluster season in 2013, the fans really want to see the judges come together to find good talent. Viewers would also like to see contestants given a chance to be the best they can be.

Perhaps that is why the countdown to American Idol is so exciting. It’s going to have a whole new feel and the fans can hardly wait to see what happens.
