An "American Idol" hopeful scared Keith Urban to the point where he cowered underneath a table during the season premiere Wednesday.
Ben Gaisey, who wore a retro red suit and curly wig, auditioned with a unique song and performance style that included pelvic thrusts. Those pelvic thrusts and the quality of his voice caused Urban to scream "it's not safe" under the judge's table.
Mariah Carey was no fan of Gaisey's performance either, though she and some of the other judges found it entertaining in a comedic way.
"You know, it's a bit much," Carey told Gaisey. "It's a little over the top."
After recovering from his moment under the table, Keith Urban said singing was not for him.
"This is not the right avenue for you," said Urban.
Ben Gaisey didn't take the news well and was clearly under the impression that he had vocal talent.
According to Nicki Minaj, the way he performed almost caused her to faint.
"I nearly fainted with the thrust," said Minaj.
"American Idol" continues Thursday night on FOX.
