"American Idol" is getting ready for a new season on Fox, but last season's winner is ready to share her music with the world. On Thursday, Dec. 19, MJ's Big Blog reported that Candice Glover's first single and music video had been released. "Cried" is from her upcoming release "Music Speaks."

The music video for "Cried" is done mostly in black and white. It shows scenes of a troubled marriage, and before the end of the video the woman gathers the strength she needs to take her child and leave her abusive husband. Candice spoke about the single in an interview, and she said the following, according to Hit Fix:

When you have been through it or not, and I have, you’re wearing your heart on your sleeve so people can connect to it. This guy just doesn’t love you any more and you’re tried so hard to understand. That’s the part of love that all of us wish we hadn’t been through.

The singer also revealed that love is a major theme on her first album. Glover won season 12 of American Idol back in May. She beat out Kree Harrison for the title. "Music Speaks" is set for release on Feb. 18.

What do you think? Will you be picking up your copy of this "American Idol" winner's first album? "American Idol" will premiere season 13 on Jan. 15.
