American Idol alum Constantine Maroulis calls out Clay Aiken on Twitter

American Idol heartthrob Constantine Maroulis called out fellow alum Clay Aiken on Twitter. Allegedly the Twitter words came after Clay Aiken demanded tickets to the musical Constantine was in then didn’t attend the show.

Starring in the pre-Broadway touring show of “Jekyll & Hyde”, Maroulis performed Friday night at the Durham Performing Arts Center in Durham, NC. In Constantine’s Twitter rant, he accused Aiken of requesting free tickets and backstage passes to the performance.

Instead of attending the show, Clay Aiken sent his mother and assistant. Constantine tweeted, “wow pretty corny. Say ur comin, tix arranged, then you send ur mama and asst instead? Lol.”

Maroulis then went so far as to imply that Aiken needed to “stay classy.” To further insult Constantine, Aiken tweeted a picture of “Jekyll & Hyde” with the caption, “A night at the theatre. Breaking photo rules.”

Constantine didn’t let the tweet go knowing Aiken wasn’t even at the show. Sending a follow up tweet, Maroulis said, “so…who took the pic? His mama/asst-his team made a BIG deal he was comin and wanted M/G.” M/G is code for a backstage “meet and greet.”

Constantine Maroulis has a highly successful stage career including a Tony nomination. Maroulis finished sixth on season four of American Idol.

Maroulis continued to voice his displeasure with Aiken on Twitter. “I’m sure there was a valid excuse…(none we heard) Or they jus wanted free tix ha!”

As of yet, Clay Aiken hasn’t responded to Constantine’s taunts on Twitter. However, his fans known as “Claymates”, have taken to Twitter to defend Aiken and blast Maroulis.

One such fan, @MusicMarty tweeted, “sad to want publicity so much you would post this. Gotta a problem? Fix it private.”
