One of the biggest debates going on right now among Adam Lambert fans is simple -- if another single is released from "For Your Entertainment" here in the United States, what would it be?
In reality, the decision will be geared to what conversative American radio stations will play. With that in mind, "Sleepwalker" and "Aftermath" seem to be the leading candidates. However, the success of "Fever" overseas is starting to suggest that the song could ultimately have a chance here.
Let's look at the reasons why this song could very well work:
- Star power: Dropping Lady Gaga's name gets you far these days. Even though Adam is a enormous star in his own right, the history of this song could give it some weight.
- The melody: Let's face it -- "Fever" is a catchy song, and that can go far on the radio.
- History: "If I Had You" managed to become a major hit despite starting out slow in terms of airplay, and "Fever" could do the same.
- International success: the song is already a #1 hit in Singapore and New Zealand -- yes, the song makes it fairly obvious as to what (and who) Adam is singing about, but isn't America ready to give this song a try?
Even if "Fever" never makes it to the United States as a single, it still could do well in England and Canada if Adam so chose. There is even a petition out there to make it happen north of the border. (Keep in mind, though, that there may not even be another single released before the new album drops next year.)

I actually heard Fever play in Singapore and NZ radio stations and I jumped and clapped so hard. It felt so good to hear it on the radio. What's wrong with America? And what's wrong with the label not putting out another song of Adam's. The momentum is there now, keep it going.
i think it would really be a shame if sleepwalker was not put out as a single. it's my favorite song on the album. i also like fever; but this is a homophobic country and i'm afraid some radio stations wouldnt play it, even if it were requested. why not both?????

The thing is...it's only ONE pronoun...it's really sad that the release of a really good song that's a huge fan favorite can be halted because of ONE pronoun that people are afraid of
I believe, if given the chance, Fever would be as huge in the States as it is in other countries. It's embodies all the elements that a pop hit should have. I've watched Adam perform this on tour many many times and the audience loves it every time! Sleepwalker and Aftermath are also superb choices. I think this album has far from exhausted hit singles and several more should be released.
I really don't believe it could make it in the US and not sure of Canada either. Aftermath would make it easily in both countries.
I completely disagree Fever would be a big HIT. Aftermath I don't think so but I still love the song. FEVER is just more popular at the concerts. Plus many DJ's have stated that FEVER should be released as it is a great radio friendly song.
Why not just leave it to the listeners to decide ... request which song from ADAM's FYE album THEY would most like to hear as a single ... release THAT song. No need for a video ... just release the audio ... run a poll ... see what American fans would support the most ... the ENTIRE album is GREAT!! ..JMO
Request the heck of this song on the radio. Radio stations are being just a little too biased as they play everything else by Eminem, KP which have much more impact on the public. No video is needed. Just release the single. Need I say more.
*IF* Fever would make it as the next single, the MV would have to be friggin epic.
I am not in the US/Canada region, I am from Europe, but I would even go out and put up posters all over town! I would deactivate the 'avoid scary getto' option in my neuronal GPS settings and put up so many posters on everything poster-able that everyone would know who AFL is!
~~though, I would flip to see Sleepwalker as a single, too. xD

It would be hypocritical in the extreme for radio stations to discriminate against Fever given all the other very explicitly sexual (and in some cases pretty depraved) stuff that already gets tons of airplay.

I love FEVER, so sexy , so fun! I also love. I think all fans would support it and those that oppose aren't fans anyway. I think Adam is getting too big of a musical presence for the radio stations to play their game of witholding tunes from wanting to listen fans. And they know how loyal Adam's fans are and if they play his tunes, they win, too! Just PLEASE, give us a single release of SOMETHING!

FEVER would definitely be a huge hit for radio listeners in America if we could get the narrow minded radio programmers and DJ's to actually PLAY the song! I don't understand how other countries that seem to be more conservative are willing to play the song but the US is not.

I think Fever would be a smash hit. It's too bad that radio would find one little pronoun so offensive. After all, Katy Perry "kissed a girl and liked it" and Eminen can "tie her to the bed and set this house on fire". I don't get it. THOSE lyrics are okay,but a simple "he" isn't. I love Fever and agree it should be the next single but I don't really think America is ready to hear it on the airwaves. Besides Adam usually follows a pattern of slow ballad and fast dance song. Which means the next song needs to be slow and I would love to hear Sleepwalker on the radio.

I talk to people who think of themselves as good descent people yet don't think twice about spewing forth homophobic hate and vile language. They are ignorant because they can't wrap their little minds around the fact that there is diversity in this world. They want everyone to be the same. Some of the DJ's out there are really ignorant too. I can name quite a few and there are some really good and open minded DJ's too. Maxwell of Q102, Z100, Jackson Blue and several others are examples of open minded DJ's that I will tune into any day.

I love Adam and I want Adam and his company to do whatever they think is right for his career. The fans are the last people who should make a decision about which song to release. Lots of emotion, not enough knowledge about how the music industry works. Adam has had a hard enough time getting radio play; why release something that Program Directors have already told you they wont play? Are all these fans going to spend hours a day calling into stations demanding the song? Most of them do not. But of all the songs on Adam's album, only Fever and Sleepwalker are the ones with potential for hit radio. Aftermath is dated and wont get airplay. (even though I do love the acoustic version.)
I love Fever! But I believe Adam himself said the DJs in the U.S. will not play Fever. So the question isn't what would we as fans do, but what can we do? Are we a strong enough force to change the minds of DJs all over the U.S.? I'm willing to try. But how?

Sleepwalker will be a way better choice in USA.
I don't think the DJs will play this song. And God forbid him making a video of it? I wish it were different, but I have little faith in my country. Girls can sing about kissing girls, but not boys about picking up another boy. It's too bad. It's a great song. It might be interesting to see what happens, however.

I like Fever but I really like sleepwalker. Also think if a video is made, sleepwalker would have some interesting options. Remember Ga Ga played games with fever in New Zealand, and would probably do the same thing in the US
I personally would enjoy "Fever" the most, but the "forbidden" pronoun is probably something the mainstream audience in the US can't handle and radio stations chose what's safe. Very ridiculous in this "Land of the Free" where girls can successfully kiss girls and a dude named Eminem can swear and sing about rape as he pleases. Still, I would not want another great song of Adam's blacklisted. I signed the petition for Canada, but these folks are light years ahead. Matt, you are the best!
