If you want to be cast in Adam Lambert's music video for "If I Had You," there seems to be one major prerequisite -- a preference for fire. According to reports, the "American Idol" runner-up is looking for people who can fire eat, fire breathe, fire juggle, fire twirl, etc."
The overview also explained briefly what the concept for the video will reportedly be:
"This music video is set in a dark but beautiful forest, where we experience a surreal light show, similar to the Northern Lights of Norway. We are here for an artistic gathering of all types of people, to socialize, dance and party while taking in this display of beauty and mystery."
Sounds pretty artistic, huh? The difficulty for Adam at this point is going to be fighting the expectations for him to create something bigger and crazier with every video. Like with Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, or any other big artist right now, music videos are just as much about the artist's creative expression as the song itself. It's not likely that Adam will disappoint based on this concept -- rather, hearing about it just makes the anticipation for its debut at the end of the month (or potentially early June) even worse.

Wow! What pressure to keep upping the ante with every succeeding music video! Personally, I don’t need any bells or whistles to keep my interest in Adam. I’m definitely here for the ride and I’m sure it will be glorious and spectacular at times, but I’m just as happy hearing and (seeing) Adam sit on a stool and singing a cappella.
I enjoy Adam Lambert's creativity. Whatever he comes up will surprise and delight and probably be out there, but then that's what keeps everyone coming back to see what is next.

Of course I cannot wait. While Adam has the most beautiful voice and can just stand/or sit singing( look and listen so his mind blowing unplugged videos) Adam also has the imagination,creativity and the soul of an artist to create a visual feast for the eyes. While the jealous put him down for having to use this, it is so funny, as they don't realize what a talent it is to be able to create, I feel sorry for such as they must have dull grey lives.Imean, anyone can just stand there, and who would want to watch a concert of nothing but that. bleh. Adam can do it all and he loves the challenge. He really is a superstar in every sense of the word.

Emerson, you are spot on! I love and devour everything Adam does---and the sheer scope of his creative and mesmerizing persona means that I am never disappointed, no matter what venue he chooses to grace us all with----I love him!
Adam's dream come true! He wanted to perform with fire coming out of his head on the Zodiac Show and seemed to be quite disappointed when his idea was shot down (although he did get some dancers to perform with flaming torches during "Crawl Thru Fire" on Zodiac). Apparently, he has a fascination with fire and I am so glad that he will be able to indulge his fantasies. He is so imaginative - anything that he puts his stamp of approval on will be FABULOUS!
I am always excited when it comes to Adam Lambert. He is eye and ear candy at whatever he does, over the top or stripped down. Adam is a brilliant artist and one sexy guy, but it is definitely his voice which got me hooked from the beginning.
Adam Lambert has said several times in interviews that making music videos was one the most fulfilling parts of his journey and truly a dream come true for him. He's very into presenting this visual element to his music. I can't wait; I am totally fulfilled just watching him sing with just a mic and that incredible stage persona, as he always delives and never disappoints, but I'm certainly excited for the great ride ahead in terms of his various multi media performances over the coming years.

Adam has said in many interviews his favorite part of his career is making music videos. He is unbelievably creative, so I'm sure his video for IIHY will be a sight for all to see. He always thinks outside the box, never sings a song the same way twice, and never disappoints his audience. Adam always keeps us guessing, and that is why he is the most exciting performer out there!

I LOVE Adam Lambert. However, I prefer the Adam Lambert he showed us on American Idol. He's losing fans who are not into "raunchy". For every "booking", please book a cleaned up version for the next day/evening for the other half of your fans. And why isn't Adam's version of "Ring of Fire" not playing on the radio or available anywhere? This would have gone solid gold the week he sang it. I want a copy of all the songs he sang on American Idol. Just can't seem to find them anywhere!!!!!
It'll be interesting to see how the director of this video combines and reconciles lyrics about "New York to L.A...trashing a room...Girls in stripper heels...Boys rolling in Maseratis...The fashion and the stage..." with the reported location in a forest, with Northern Lights, fire breathers/dancers, Cassidy on stilts, Cheeks doing whatever... it all sounds like Burning Man in a forest - a performance art party. I can't WAIT to see it!
