'American Idol:' Adam Lambert, Kris Allen featured on next 'Now' album

Adam Lambert and Kris Allen can now say they've officially made it -- their songs have been chosen for a "Now That's What I Call Music" album. The 33rd installment of the popular music series -- which will release on March 23 -- will feature Adam's "Whataya Want From Me" to go along with Kris Allen's "Live Like We're Dying."

The "Now" series has its share of detractors, particularly those who feel that compiling a bunch of hit singles onto an album doesn't really make for a wonderful listening experience (that and most people can just buy individual songs on iTunes now for free). However, getting on "Now 33" is just as much of a status symbol as anything else. These two former "American Idol" contestants are now on the same album as Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Snoop Dogg -- in other words, a bunch of insanely popular modern artists.

Both Adam and Kris have received significant play on the radio with these songs, and Lambert's debut album "For Your Entertainment" is now certified gold.

No, I'm not going to buy it. I already have Adam's song and Lady GaGa's and Rihanna's. The ones I want I already have.

I like that picture of Adam. It's going in my collection.

I'm not going to buy it either. I already have Adam and Lady GaGa's songs and I don't care for the other artists on the CD. Who buys these things anyway? I'd be curious to see the sales numbers for these types of CDs. Especially when it comes to popular music. Since it is popular people who are interested in it probably already have the songs they want.

Nope I have adam's already, might buy the one with new songs for adam but not this one. it seems mute.

I already have any songs that I like from that album (Adam, Rihanna, Lady G.), so I won't be buying it, but I know that those Now albums sell really well and always make it to the Billboard top 10 albums or even #1. Tweens and teens really love them.

Dang, that Adam is hot!! Will the album include any pictures of him with it? If so, I'll buy it.

Congrats to both Adam and Kris. This is awesome!!!! I love them both. I will buy. I also like Gaga and Rhianna.

Well, there were actually some more Adam Lambert songs that I am interested in downloading, so I'll have to think about this one. However, I do look for Adam Lambert and Kris Allen to do some music together some day. I would be very curious to 'hear' how a collaboration between these two would turn out. Could be good!

  • Dave 2 years ago

Yeah, I will. It will be convenient to just put one CD and hear the best, especially while driving. I like Kris Allen's LLWD and adore Rihanna.

If it ends up a bargain I would consider but I probably have most already.

  • Anna 2 years ago

I'm not buying it for I already have Adam's CD. I'd rather buy his CD's international release with the new added tracks.

  • Lisa 2 years ago

Unfortunately, Adam has had little-to-no airplay in the Washington, D.C. market, which is just unfathomable to me since other markets are playing Whataya Want From Me. Wish my car radio received better reception of the Baltimore stations! And no, I won't buy "Now" but I will download Adam's remixes EP when it's available.
