It's another week, another peak position for Adam Lambert and Kris Allen. The two former "American Idol" contestants both rose to their highest positions yet as solo artists on the Billboard Hot 100 Thursday with their respective singles "Whataya Want From Me" and "Live Like We're Dying."
For Adam Lambert, his second single off of "For Your Entertainment" rose two spots from #37 up to #35. While the gain wasn't as dramatic this past week with no "Oprah" appearance in sight, it does prove that the singer has some sustainability in terms of radio airplay. Generally stars tend to rise and fall quickly without that sort of backbone.
Adam is still twelve spots behind Kris Allen, but "Live Like We're Dying" has also been on the charts for a far longer period of time. Allen's single rose three spots to #23, which is a new personal best for the Arkansas native. (Previously, his top post-"Idol" spot was #25.)
Both Adam and Kris have plenty of events coming up over the course of the next several months. While Adam has returned to the States following a stint in Canada, Kris Allen is off to the Philippines for a performance.

In my household, it's ALL ABOUT THE ADAM!!!!! So with that, of course I am VERY happy that both Adam and Kris are doing so well in the charts. I really like Adam's album, and I actually really like Kris' song 'Live Like We're Dyin'. True to the first song on his album, Adam truly has made 'me want to listen to music again!' A miracle in this age of 'crappy rap,' which I have NEVER thought of as music, and absolutely DETEST!

ADAM is just about at GOLD status for his album For Your Entertainment and his single Whataya Want From Me is doing very well on the charts as well. Both he & Kris along with Allison Iraheta have an upcoming concert on Feb. 12th in NYC and then ADAM is headlining at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in CA on Feb. 27th ... tickets are almost gone for anyone interested in going. Both young men seem to be doing well ... it is my understanding that ADAM will be launching a promotional tour for his album in the beginning of April as well.
I am so happy for both of them. They love and care for each other so there is no competition. They truly have a beautiful relationship.
Hello Matt and all ya all....am I wrong or did I see that Adam dropped to #36 this week on the Billboard Top 200 from #21 the week before? If so, I know he'll move up agin!!! Also, it appears this week that Kris has dropped to #122 on the top 200 vs #101 the week before? Am I right or wrong?

Just want to say, I quit reading the comments when Glamberts are on here. They're so OBNOXIOUS! The worst, disgusting, raunchy "fan group" I've ever seen, and I do believe I've seen some bad ones since the beginning of Idol!
I wish the posts would stop pitting Kris and Adam against each other. It is often subtle, but the purpose is to keep the competition going and get fans of both or either worked up. Both these guys are talented in their own right. I won't say who I prefer. It just doesn't matter. What does matter is that we support the artist of our choice and sit back and enjoy their rise to fame. Go Kris! Go Adam!

Hey, it's time to retire the comparison of Kris to Adam. American Idol was over last May. It's really low-brow to keep this contest up isn't it? Let's move on and just see them as separate recording artist, ok? Both men sing but they will forever be apples and oranges in the music world. Quit yanking the chain of either fans because it's just not cool so, let it go already.

I love it how the author has slanted the article to make Adam look like he's doing better than Kris. "Adam's at #35. . . and oh, yeah, Kris is at #23, but his single's been out longer." He didn't mention that the reason Kris' single has been out longer is because Adam's first two singles were really bad and didn't go anywhere at all. The label finally got a good one for him on their third try. I'm not putting down Adam. It's the label's fault they can't pick decent material/singles for him. He's got a good enough voice to carry whatever they gave him. But I just think it's funny how the media really pushes Adam and won't give Kris credit for his success.

Kris's album has been out longer because it was released BEFORE Adams's. It has nothing, whatsoever, to do with Adam's singles. "Time For Miracles" was not Adam's single. It was on the 2012 soundtrack and was added as a bonus track on Adam's album. "For Your Entertainment" is a great song, but, because of the controversy around his performance on the AMAs, was put aside in favor of "Whataya Want From Me," which was released after his album and is the song currently climbing the charts. Given that Kris's single was released well before his album, it's taking quite a while to climb the charts.

Love Adam and everything about him. He is so very talented and I am sure he will be around for a long time. Adam & kris should not be compared because they are so different. Adam is full of talent and kris is very common. I wish them both the best.
