'American Idol:' Adam Lambert jokes about Grammy outfit

Adam Lambert generated a ton of buzz for his outfit at the 2010 Grammy Awards, and not all of it has been positive. Some fashion critics had negative things to say about his sleek jacket, while others had plenty of fun with the Colonel Sanders-esque tie that the "American Idol" runner-up decided to don.

However, on thing you have to say about Adam is that he's willing to poke fun at himself. For proof, all you had to do was check out the singer's Twitter page on Monday: "I'm having a KFC craving...."

As it has already been widely reported, Adam was at the awards to serve as a fashion correspondent for "Entertainment Tonight." For some reason getting a reality star to take on these duties was the common practice this year -- two stars from "Jersey Shore," Snooki and The Situation, took on a similar duty for MTV and Access Hollywood, respectively.

Do you applaud Adam's sense of humor after being attacked by some critics? Let me know your thoughts with a comment and stay tuned for more "American Idol" news.

You gotta love Adam's sense of humor! Without it he's subject to failure considering all the hard hits and low blows he's had to deal with! I say "Kudos to Adam for handling things so well!"
It's Rock Stars like him who give fans the courange and integrity to be proud of who we are as people. Thank you Adam for just being you and showing us how to "roll with the punches."

Adam wore an outfit that was well suited for the type of function he attended. He brought back style and glamour back into the music industry. Even in his video not only does he interputes the style of clothing of the song but also expresses the moves. I am so sick and tired of seeing performers with torn blue jeans, sloppy shirts and uncombed hair. Adam would be the one to poke at himself first so critics go and find someone else to pick on. Wondering if these critics look as good as Adam or even sings as good as Adam??

To quote ADAM ... Chill! It Aint That Deep! ADAM has always said he doesn't take himself or things that others say about him seriously ... YOU CAN'T PLEASE EVERYBODY!!!
I thought he looked CLASSY ... more so than some of the male performers and should have been on STAGE SINGING ... but then again ADAM excels in everything he does and he is GORGEOUS!!!

I think Adam's comment was great - so typically humorous of him!! I thought the tie could also be characterized as a Wyatt Earp tie, or even a choir boy tie. But either way, I thought he rocked it. I love the fact that he actually DRESSES! (including in his singing performances). I, too, am tired of the sloppiness and the too casual look of some of the men who attend these things, or when they perform. Sometimes it looks like they picked out their outfits with their eyes wide shut. I agree with Adam, let's step up the game, guys!!! And P.S. I thought Usher was one of the "worst dressed" - what's up with the plaid-type shirt, the polka dot tie, and the 70's prom suit? Please, just stop with that trend! You, too, Randy Jackson, with your blue checked shirt! Guys, wait until you're in your 70's to wear those kind of shirts.

Love his sense of humor and his sense of style. He's different and very special.

Adam always has an ability to laugh at himself! That why we love him. I thought they would go after his hair which is always different. Gini

It's fashion commentary. It's not World Peace. Go get some KFC,listen to FYE and find your lost sense of humor.

I guess people have forgotten that Elvis wore a similar tie in his first movie, "Love Me Tender," so it's entirely appropriate for Adam to wear the tie, since he is the reincarnation of Elvis.

    Adam looked gorgeous!(classy):)

The problem is... if Adam was wearing something more stylish than his KFC-shiny suit... he would have been overshadowing the other stars on the red carpet...He could not do that as a correspondent... His job was to make the stars shine through his interviews...
