Adam Lambert may only have one album in stores, but the "American Idol" singer is doing quite a good job at keeping sales for the album consistent. In the newest Neilsen SoundScan numbers courtesy of USA Today, "For Your Entertainment" sold 5,000 additional copies in the past week. While this is a decrease of 7% from the past week, it still puts him over the 670,000 mark in terms of albums sold. Not only that, but it ties him for second with Daughtry in terms of sales from "Idol" alums. (Carrie Underwood is leading the way with "Play On".)
In terms of music across the board, Eminem has once again proved to be a force to be reckoned with. His new album "Recovery" is projecting to sell anywhere between 740,000 and 755,000 copies in its first week, making it the strong debut since AC/DC's "Black Ice" back in 2008.

Appreciate knowing that this talented artist's album is moving along and hoping the sales represent new fan gains per week. I know I am looking forward to his second album!
As "if I had you" gets played more often, glowing concert reviews continue, and possibly another single (or two) is released from the CD, sales will continue steadily -- if not increase. As for the next CD, I know I'll buy it!

I like the title of the article :) I'm thinking his sophmore album will do better but hard to say as CD sales in general are declining dramatically year over year. I remember the RCA over at AO saying that Aiken's sales way back then would have been the equivalant of 600k nowadays. Clarkson, Underwood, Aiken were around before iTunes and YouTube! They didn't have to deal with ripping of music.
I think Adam will have no trouble with sales since his concert reviews have been quite good. I find it incredible that Eminem has sold that many albums. Is this the bulk of our younger generation listening to his kind of music. It's crazy and it's sad that other talented performers with great voices have to compete for sales with the garbage that Eminem puts out.
for sure is a very good music but i saw that ADAM sales better live concerts , his voice is trained for stage . I cant get enough
his music , his presence on stage , his act , i look foraward the new cd , everytime Adam surprise me in a very good way , is amaizing.
Adam finished this first album and had it released all within 3 months. I have seen how he changed up some songs from the album when he performed them live on TV. Clearly, with his next album, haaving the time experiment with each song, it will be even better than this first one. FYE is doing well and has two hit singles with more coming from it. But Eminem was named the best artist of the decade, let's give Adam a decade, see how it goes.

As Adam makes his way back and forth across the country he'll sell more CD's. Plus he has the International tour. He's already sold well over a million worldwide. His single WWFM has topped the charts all over the world & consitantly sold over 100k each week worldwide.
Carrie, Pink, JayZ, Streisand,Kelly, Sting,Rolling Stone, -get the picture - Eminem stands alone in his accomplishments of his high sales numbers first week out - so why compare Adam to Eminem. Matt, last year you started off bashing Adam weekly, got enough responses supporting him to shut the f up and now you depend on Adam for readers, but you still try to get a dig in.
Hasn't his cd gone platinum in Canada, Singapore, New Zealand and maybe Japan? Why don't they give American sales totals AND international sales totals. I am sure that no other idol has the international sales he has. (And if they do, that's great, too.) Does anyone know the international total for Adam?
In 1996, Eminem 's first album "Infinite" sold 1000 copies and never made the charts.
Adam 's first album made Gold Record at 500,000 and is heading toward Platinum.

And PLEASE compare apples WITH apples. THIS is Adam's FIRST album. ompare it, if YOU like, with OTHER first time artist. RCA needs to release the amount of Adam's international sales. When week after week writers like you only give US numbers it does not give a true picture of Adam's international popularity. Be a reporter and get all the numbers.
Why don't you mention countries like Canada where he has gone platinum since February or March, or countries like New Zeland where he also has gone platinum?
He also sold a ton of cd's in Europe when he was there and is taking his tour over this fall.There has to be a way to get the total. Maybe @ Adam Official.com
There are a number of choice songs on the album which I hope he releases as singles in the future. There is something on there for a number of musical preferences. Diversity seems to be his theme and he does a great job with his various musical adventures. He is entertaining and and brings fun to his performances as well. I wish him continued success here and abroad.
He will continue to do well because his talent has only begun to be tapped and he is capable of competing in any venue he chooses. He is true to himself and not so much to marketing and that will keep the popularity to those of us who just can't get enough. I will keep my office, cars, bedroom, den, LR, kitchen music systems well supplied with anything Adam produces!! That's 7 copies and an IPOD right there!!
He's sold 670,000? I thought it would be much more. And 5000 last week isn't a lot. Ke$ha sold 15,000 and this is also her first album.
I totally agree with gracie. What in the world do people see in eminem, he doesn't even SING. It's RAP CRAP! There is no comparison between him and Adam. Also, when is glamnation tour coming to southwest Fla???
It is unlikely that Adam will see platinum with this album. It has been out for 8 months already. The big push is over. International sales are not included in any US artist's totals because it apples and oranges to compare them. NZ is platinum at 15,000 sold. You just can't compare that with 1,000,000 in US sales. Adam is doing fine for a new artist. Exaggerating expectations will not work towards his benefit because then it looks like he's failed. Just be happy fans with the sales and success he actually has earned.

I KNOW Adam's next album will be "OUTSTANDING"!! , Adam is the whole package!!! He can sing Rock, Classical, Pop, Opera, etc..His voice has such range, Being "different" you all know what I mean,! might had probably made it hard for some people to warm up to him, If people would give him a chance they would forever become fans..Talent like this is not manufactured, he is the REAL DEAL!!! My family attended his concert in Toronto this June 19th/10 I will forever treasure that experience, it's history in the making!!! and I got to share that, !! My husband who was skeptical a first, walked out of Adam's concert eating humble pie!!! He truly understood what the ADAM OBSESSION was all about!!!!, It 's people who really appreciate REAL TALENT!!
I would challenge any non ADAM fan to go see one of his concerts! I Guarantee they would walk out a forever fan!

I'm happy with what Adam has achieved and I think everyone else should be too...even if he hasn't sold as many albums as other newcomers like Kesha, you can't deny he's been successful! And he has such a huge and loving fanbase too. (: I'd be happy if I were him...
@Julie Maybe that's the point. Kesha isn't that good but she's still outselling Adam by a wide margin.
There are several pop singers currently selling more cd's than Adam, but the "one hit wonders" always sells very well and then, pufff, they dissapear. Adam is here to stay for ever, he's another kind or artist. Sorry Kesha and Justin B.
