Adam Lambert is joining the ranks of the countless celebrities mourning fashion icon Alexander McQueen, whose body was found Thursday morning in London. Adam's message was short and subtle on his Twitter page: "Rip McQueen."

This news comes just days after the "American Idol" runner-up announced that he would be attending New York Fashion Week this year. He even tweeted about his excitement late Wednesday night: "So excited for New York!!! Concerts, fashion week and friends!!!" The "concert" Adam is referring to is one that also features fellow "Idol" finalists Kris Allen and Allison Iraheta.

Considering how involved Adam is with the world of fashion (all you have to do is look at his eyeliner and leather pants for evidence), it really doesn't come as a surprise that he would be saddened by the news of McQueen's death. Many other popular singers, including Rihanna, are also planning on being in New York.

As always, feel free to share your thoughts and stay tuned for more "American Idol" news.
