Adam Lambert may want to stand out from the crowd, but there is certainly one person he doesn't mind being compared to -- Lady Gaga. In a new interview with Scottish newspaper The Daily Record, Adam refers to being dubbed as "the male Gaga" as "a compliment to the highest degree." (Granted, I'm not sure who exactly calls Adam by this name -- it's not something that's been particularly widespread here in the States.)
After once again discussing his controversial performance at the American Music Awards, Adam then went on to briefly discuss his heritage -- in other words, the publication wanted to connect him to Scotland in whatever way possible. Considering that Adam actually has red hair (in what is one of the worst-kept secrets of all time), he at least uses that along with his freckles as a connection to a possible Scottish-Irish background.
The interview concludes with the singer's mission statement -- to encourage freedom of expression to all of his fans. Like Lady Gaga, Adam wants people who follow his music to be "whoever they want to be."
Have you ever referred to Adam as "the male Gaga," and would you love to see them tour together at some point in the future? (Since they've worked together in the past, it might be at least a possibility.) Let me know your thoughts with a comment and stay tuned for more "American Idol" news.

I don't think one can refer to him as Lady GaGa since he's been doing this style of dress and singing well before Lady GaGa. He's 5 years older and according to videos on YouTube, articles and interviews he's had this style of dress and performance since 2001 which would put GaGa at 14. I think they are different in style. They both like pop and like to perform as well as sing. That's all the similarities
Nice interview. She was almost in his lap at the end, ha!
My favorite move is when that guy pretends to suck his sausage off on stage, while the the other dancer pretends to finger his bat hole. And all while singing off key. He's so talented, lol. Actually if he'd sing like he used to on idol he'd have something good...

You are one sick person!!!!!
When Adam was on AI I remember thinking that I hoped Adam would NOT become a male Lady Gaga. Although I can see that in him theatrically, the one thing I feel negative about the Lady is that she has an INCREDIBLE voice, but people don't know her for that...she is known more for her outlandish/theatrical style. Adam wants to be known for his music and voice as well as the theatrics and I would like to see him more focused there. Certainly we've seen all types of performances from him already, so I expect more of the same....keeping us guessing about what he'll do next. LOVE THAT ABOUT HIM!!! GO ADAM!!!
No I do not refer or think of Adam Lambert as the male version of Lady Gaga. Mostly because each time she is on Gaga is all about her costumes and shock value. She plays piano with her legs spread. Adam does change up his look with each performance but his stage outfits always fit the song, atmosphere, etc. Love Adam Lambert and have all of his work. I have yet to even download a Gaga song. I also didn't come around to Gaga at all until Adam Lambert praised her and her work. Then I listened to some of her songs.
I think the reason for the comparison is because they both are left of center. Neither fits the "vanilla" mold and tries to truly entertain us. Other than that, they are very different. I appreciate ga ga, but love Adam's music. Vocally, I believe he has much more range. I'm not hating on ga ga, just prefer Adam.
1st I'm dying to see him perform live alone it my ultimate dream now, 2nd yeah would love to see them both on a concert but i don't think people could handle all the epicness both of them will create, Last but not least he is never The Male Gaga, for me he will always be Adam Lambert my fav artist ever and that sums it up ;)
