While Adam Lambert didn't see any sort of movement whatsoever with "If I Had You" on one Billboard Hot 100 chart this week, he did move closer to the coveted top on the other.
Let's begin with the American chart. After steadily spending his first four weeks rising into the top 70, Adam is now sitting at #69 for the second straight week. In a way, the placement is a surprise once you consider that the "American Idol" singer saw gains both in digital sales and radio airplay in the past week. We may simply be looking at an issue here where other songs gained more or that there were not any declining songs nearby for Adam to pass.
Now, we move on to real success story of the day -- the Canadian Hot 100. Once again, Adam's popularity north of the border has managed to put the song at #8 this week -- up two spots from #10 -- in its ninth week of release. Considering that Usher's "OMG" is on the way down, we could even see "If I Had You" at #7 next week without even making any improvement.
