'American Idol' 2014 winner announced: Who won the big prize tonight?

Tonight on Fox viewers got to see the big winner of "American Idol" 2014. The show was down to just two contestants. It was between Caleb Johnson and Jena Irene. On Wednesday, People shared what viewers had to look forward to tonight. They always have great performances on the finale of this show.

The three amazing judges performed a song together tonight. This put Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr., and Keith Urban on the stage together. Randy Jackson was even up there with them. Fans have wanted to see this all season long and it finally happened. Caleb Johnson got the chance to sing with Kiss and Jena Irene was able to perform with Paramore. These performances were both dreams come true for the finalists.

The show also had a few great performances by other big stars. Phillip Phillips and Demi Lovato both put on great performances for the live audience. MK Nobilette had to miss performing on the finale due to being ill. She is still planning to tour this summer though so there is still another chance to see her perform if you are a fan. It was great to see Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland perform "Wrecking Ball" with Jessica Meuse. John Legend was also on the stage tonight. Richard Marx even saying "Right Here Waiting For You."

It was really just a night of huge performances. It was like a big concert with the announcement of the winner at the end. Fans of Lady Antebellum were excited to hear them sing their new song toward the end.Viewers had to wait the entire two hours to confirm who the winner of this season was going to be.

After the end of this two hour finale, Ryan Seacrest finally announced the winner of "American Idol" 2014. The big winner of this season is Caleb Johnson! Congrats and fans can't wait to purchase this album.
