'American Idol' 2014 top 4 song spoilers and betting odds

"American Idol" 2014 returns to FOX on May 7 as the top four contestants sing two songs apiece for America's votes and a shot at making the finals. A May 7 TV Line article spilled the song spoiler beans just 12 hours before the live broadcast. So which talented aspiring vocalist is singing what during the week's "Break-ups/Make-ups" themed live show?

On the schedule for Vegas betting favorite Jena Irene Asciutto, who enters the week favored to win season 13 with 2/3 odds according to data posted to Sports Bovada on May 7, are two tunes that were previously covered by "Idol" alums. Included are the Elvis Presley classic "I Can't Help Falling in Love" and Pat Benatar's "Heartbreaker." The latter seems a logical choice for Jena, who rocked out to Heart's "Barracuda" during the top six show and has a penchant for electronic music and apparently, 1980s-style rock.

Rocker Caleb Johnson, who holds 3/2 odds of winning "AI," is also slated to perform two older-school tunes in Paul McCartney's 1970 hit "Maybe I'm Amazed" and the Bon Jovi mega hit "You Give Love a Bad Name." TV Line's Michael Ausiello worried over Johnson's picks, calling them potentially "disastrous" in light of the lack of current tunes and in memory of Blake Lewis' take on "You Give Love a Bad Name," which he termed "one of the greatest Idol moments of all time."

With 5/1 odds of victory, Alex Preston is the only contestant who plans to sing songs that haven't been performed during a previous season of the show. Included on his set list are Coldplay's "Yellow" and "Too Close" by Alex Clare. Both choices could work well with his artistic, creative style.

Finally, holding competition long shot status with 15/1 odds is Jessica Meuse. The hopeful, who is consistently criticized by judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick, Jr. for failing to emote effectively during her performances, is scheduled to sing Lady Gaga's "You and I" and "Since U Been Gone" by "Idol" season one winner Kelly Clarkson.

The four contestants will also sing one additional song each. The names of those songs had not been released as of press time.

The "American Idol" 2014 top four performance show airs May 7 on FOX. The week's results show will follow on May 8.
