When "American Idol" 2014 premieres on FOX in January, a face very familiar to fans of the long running reality singing competition will be behind the judges' table, if an Aug. 16 statement by the starlet's boyfriend is on the up and up.
During an interview with E! News, Casper Smart confirmed girlfriend and mega celebrity Jennifer Lopez's plan to return to "AI" for its 13th season. Although rumors that the "On the Floor" singer was in talks to join the 2014 panel circulated around the internet throughout the summer, Smart is the first representative from the Lopez camp to state definitively that she would return. FOX has yet to address Smart's comment.
The new season will mark Lopez's third as an "AI" judge. She previously worked alongside Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler to critique performances in 2011 and 2012. She will join country star Keith Urban, the lone returning panelist from a disastrous 2013 edition that saw Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
