According to a March 4 tweet by Idol Insider, "American Idol" 2013 is primed to dramatically up its intensity. The show will resume from Las Vegas on March 5 with live performances from the top 10 girls. The top 10 guys will follow suit and sing for America's votes on March 6, and the week will come to a close on March 7 as the competition moves to Los Angeles, where the field will be narrowed to just the top five girls and top five guys.
Scheduled to perform March 5 for voters and judges Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson are girls Zoanette Johnson, Janelle Arthur, Kree Harrison, Amber Holcomb, Adriana Latonio, Breanna Steer, Candice Glover, Aubrey Cleland, Tenna Torres and Angela Miller.
The March 6 slate of aspiring performers includes guys Charlie Askew, Curtis Finch, Jr., Burnell Taylor, Cortez Shaw, Elijah Liu, Devin Velez, Vincent Powell, Nick Boddington, Paul Jolley and Lazaro Arbos.
The March 7 results show will feature not only the booting of half of the field, but also a live performance by "American Idol" 2012 winner Phillip Phillips. The popular season 11 champ, who is currently touring with Matchbox Twenty, will sing his new tune "Gone, Gone, Gone." Also slated to perform is the iconic band Bon Jovi.
Although the contestants have remained mum regarding their semifinal round song choices, some took to Twitter on March 4 to share their thoughts on the "Idol" experience thus far. Country girl Arthur wrote "thank you for all of your encouragement!! It really helps me during this time!! Remember, I will be singing to YOU tomorrow. <3". Jessica Sanchez lookalike Latonio shared "Agh, I'm feeling nervous but excited! Tomorrows the big day! #excited #nervous #herewego #ahh."
Others kept their pre-performance commentary light and fluffy. Miller sought hair advice from fans, and when most suggested she stick with her signature curly locks, she wrote that she'd "just have to change it up and do straight hair for the result show!"
"American Idol" 2013 resumes March 5 on FOX with the first semifinal performance show.
