"American Idol" season 12 eliminated 10 contestants from the competition tonight. The first results show of the season aired on March 7, 2013, and "American Idol" announced the top 10 singers moments ago. Each of the 10 contestants, listed below, that made it through had to sing a victory song live.
Starting next week, only one idol will leave each Thursday. The season finale is scheduled for May 16, 2013, which is early compared to past years. Many expected "American Idol" to have some sort of wildcard twist or judges' save tonight. Unfortunately for the 10 singers cut tonight, that did not occur. Somehow "American Idol" managed to make a short results show last 90 minutes. The 10 singers who were not voted in to the top 10 were swiftly bid farewell.
These 10 singers are officially "American Idol's" top 10 and they will be on the "American Idol" 2013 tour. "American Idol" airs every Wednesday and Thursday on FOX channel WAWS 30 in Jacksonville, Fla.
