'American Idol' 2013: March 21 elimination results

"American Idol" aired the top 9 elimination results show on March 21, 2013 and the voting results revealed that Paul Jolley, Devin Velez and Amber Holcomb were in the bottom three having received the least amount of votes from "Idol" viewers. We later learned that Velez and Holcomb were safe and Paul Jolley was in jeopardy of being eliminated from the competition.

One song stood between Paul Jolley and his dream of being the next "American Idol". His fate depended on the "Idol" judges and their one save of the season. Jolley performed "Alone" and it was good, but not great. Paul failed to impress all four judges and they chose not to use the save. "American Idol" has eliminated yet another male contestant. Paul Jolley was voted off "Idol" on March 21, 2013.

There were two shocking results during tonight's "American Idol" elimination round. First was the fact that Lazaro Arbos did not land in the bottom three after last night's off-key rendition of the Beatles hit, "In My Life". His was clearly the worst performance of the evening. Second shocker was Amber Holcomb being voted to the bottom three after Jimmy Iovine stated that she was definitely one of American Idol's top three contenders.

After tonight's "American Idol" elimination, the top 8 of season 12 remain. (Listed in the order announced by "Idol" host, Ryan Seacrest)

Lazaro Arbos

Kree Harrison

Candice Glover

Angie Miller

Janelle Arthur

Burnell Taylor

Amber Holcomb

Devin Velez
