American Humane's Adopt a Dog Month is designed to encourage potential pet owners to adopt a dog from their local shelter or breed rescue group.
Local shelters and rescue groups are over loaded with animals, from purebreds to mixed breeds - the original "designer dogs"! Want a darling diva you can dress up? A baby that'll grow up with the kids? A chocolate lab that can run with you? Or maybe a Shepherd mix that knows how to high-five? They are all there right now waiting for you. So celebrate Adopt A Dog Month by adding a companion to your family. You'll be setting a great example for your kids and saving a life at the same time!
