Now that “American Horror Story: Asylum” has come to a head, everyone is eagerly awaiting the plot for season three. There have been whispers made as to what’s to come in the next season. Entertainment Weekly reported yesterday during an interview with Sarah Paulson (Lana Winters), that she will join the cast for season three. Paulson signed on without knowing anything whatsoever about "American Horror Story" season three, saying, “If this year is any indication, I certainly know that if there’s any person I’m going to go into something blindly with, it would be Ryan”.
Ryan Murphy, the creator of the FX phenomena, is known for peppering clues in the current series as to what to expect in the upcoming one. Fans of the show have been eating this up, trying to find the pieces to finish the big puzzle. This season was no exception, where people are buzzing about whether what they’re viewing is an actual hint or just a sleight of hand.
Internet rumors are swirling about the next season focusing on the Salem Witch trials. It is said that one such clue can be found in the song that Sister Mary Eunice played on the juke box, “I put a spell on you” for Sister Jude. Perezhilton.com reported the next chapter will dive back into the past from time to time, will take place in multiple cities, and deal largely with girl power. ScreenRant quoted Murphy saying, “We’re contemplating on shooting it in a place in the country where true horror has been. We’ve got lots of delicious plans.”
Speculation aside, Ryan was quoted saying he wants do something in the vain of “evil glamour,” and wants to focus more on a Romeo & Juliet theme much like Tate and Violet in season one. In fact Ryan confirmed to Entertainment Weekly there are talks of bringing back Taissa Farmiga (who played Violet in season one) in the next season. Ryan also promises the next season will be much lighter and more comedic compared to this past season encompassing the dark mental health care system.
