Ever since the end of "American Horror Story: Coven" fans have been dying to know what the fourth installment would be about. On March 16 AV Club reveals that the premise will be a period piece involving the carnival.

Many fans have guessed as much with the limited knowledge of the characters that would be in the next season. So far, Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, and Sarah Paulson have been confirmed for the next season. Evan Peters has expressed interest in wanting to come back for another season, however, nobody else has yet to be confirmed for the next season.

It is likely that Lange will play some kind of a burlesque performer as Ryan Murphy himself has stated that she will be playing a Marlene Dietrich character with a German accent. During the 1950s Dietrich was a burlesque performer in vaudeville and other performances.

Paulson confirmed that she is working on a "special talent" that wasn't an accent, so she could be anything from an acrobat, fire breather, or even one of the carnies that will inevitably be in show.

While there is no news as to who or what the other two characters are going to be, many see Bassett as a fortune teller that offers up creepy predictions.

There have been many clues over the past seasons and even within the real life of Ryan Murphy that have all hinted toward a season of the show surrounding a circus or carnival and now it seems to be coming true.

Season four of "American Horror Story" won't be airing until next fall, but it will be a period piece set in the 1950s in either New Orleans or the desert. A carnival theme has a lot of potential of being one of the scariest seasons as of yet, however, Ryan Murphy has already claimed that this season will have a lighter tone like "Coven" did.

What do you think of the carnival premise for the next installment of "American Horror Story?"
