Fans already know that Frances Conroy has agreed to star in the third season of "American Horror Story." What she recently let slip while in an interview is that not only is this season going to set in New Orleans, but whatever the theme, she will be playing a much larger role than in seasons past. Conroy shares with Zap 2 It on March 8 that she will be in 10 of the 13 episodes of the season.
Now that fans know that the season will take place in new Orleans and not Salem, Dylan McDermott's previous comment about Kathy Bates being a witch are a little confusing. The show could still center around witchcraft but it sounds like it would be more likely if voodoo is the real theme.
Fans are also beginning to question what roles the characters would play. Since Ryan Murphy himself shared that Kathy Bates is being brought on to play a real life historical horror, this leaves fans guessing at two possibilities from the New Orleans area; Delphine LaLaurie and Marie Laveau.
While Laveau was feared by many and named the Voodoo queen, she was nothing compared to LaLaurie who was responsible for torturing and dozens of black slaves. It is also interesting to note that her mansion is still sitting on Royal Street in New Orleans. It likely could be the setting for the show.
What do you thing of this interesting twist to the supposed magical theme of "American Horror Story" season three? Who do you think Kathy Bates will play?
