'American Horror Story' season 3 spoilers: Kathy Bates signs on as bad woman

Many fans are absolutely thrilled that Kathy Bates has signed on to play alongside the rest of the returning "American Horror Story" cast for season three. On Feb. 28 Coming Soon reports that her character is of a bad, bad woman much worse than her crazy character in the Stephen King movie, "Misery." While fans still don't know what the third season of the horror drama will be about, there has already been a lot of speculation and many are claiming that it will have something to do with witchcraft.

Ryan Murphy, the creator of "American Horror Story" says that Bates will be playing an old friend of Lange's character who will quickly be found as the enemy of the series. Murphy says that her character is a very bad woman, nothing like anything else that Bates has played yet, and five times worse than her "Misery" character.

To make things even more enticing for Kathy is that the character she is playing is based on a real person, and true events that took place in America during a period in history. Murphy says about adding Kathy;

"When I pitched this to Kathy, her mouth was drop-jawed because what I was pitching actually happened. It’s a true event… You’ll see. It’s some good stuff.”

It sounds like it is going to be wicked good fun. Filming for the new season is slated to begin this summer and the new series will premiere sometime in the fall. Will you be watching?
