On Jan. 29, FX's horror series American Horror Story aired it's season finale. This marks the end of the third this and its storyline. Unlike most series, the show has a new plot and characters every season. The third season was called "The Coven" and followed a boarding school for witches. Although, the show has been highly popular since it's debut, fans have called this story arc the best and most thrilling yet.

Now lets get to the recap of the teeth grinning finale. Fiona (Jessica Lange) is assumed to be daed, killed by the Axeman, leaving Cordelia (Sarah Paulson), the headmaster at Miss Robichaux's Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies, to find out the idenity of the new Supreme. Students Zoe (Taissa Farmiga), Madison (Emma Roberts), Misty (Lily Rabe) and Queenie (Gabourey Sidibe) are all in the running to be the Supreme and must perform the Seven Wonders to see who comes out on top. However, there can only be one Supreme meaning the possiblity that the other girls might die in the process.

Misty get's stuck in high school hell, Zoe is impaled by spike and Queenie inablity to bring Misty back to the living elimates her from the competition. This leaves Hollywood starlet and Miss Robichaux's Academy's bad-girl Madison the last one standing. However, she refuses to offer any help to her classmates until she is named Supreme. It looks as though the comeptition is over, but Cordelia has actually been checking off the Seven Wonders one at a time making the whole competition reset itself. Because Madison was unable to use divination she fails the competition, which angers her so she leaves the Coven treatening to blow the lid off the school; but she is killed by Kyle (Evan Peters) who is mad at her unwillingness to save Zoe.

Finally Cordelia is chosen to be the new supreme. She is given back her eye sight and beauty. Afterwards, she decides that there should be no more hiding and opens up the academy to the press into the school and letting the world know that it's a safe place for witches. But first she must rid her house of her mother, Fiona whom in fact faked her death. The distance mother and daughter have one finale battle.

At the end, Cordelia reigns supreme and is seen welcoming a class of new witches to the school.
