'American Horror Story: Asylum' character Pepper shows true face (Photos)

Many fans of the popular FX show "American Horror Story: Asylum" has wondered what Pepper really looks like in real life. On Jan. 7 Wetpaint offers fans the chance to see the before and after of Pepper's transformation from the show, and most will be very surprised. Pepper is the most different character from the rest in the institution, even though she is a gentle-natured microcephalic who has been framed for murder.

Pepper is played by Naomi Grossman, a stand up comedienne and actress who doesn't actually suffer from any neuro-developmental disorders and actually has some stunning looks. Naomi recently talked about the fact that when she started the show, security actually attempted to kick her off the set because they didn't recognize her without the makeup! Ryan Murphy, the co-creator of the show, in attempts to keep everything hush-hush about what was going on so it would be a surprise to everyone, had Grossman wear a sheet over herself.

The makeup transformation takes over two hours to transform Naomi into Pepper, and that is with two to three people working on her at the same time. Naomi says that she goes through it proudly because she didn't want her character come across as a crude caricature.
