Have you ever tried your hand at brewing brew? It can be quite a challenge and requires plenty of patience, but many feel the rewards are worth it in the end. There happens to be a large organization dedicated to brewing with members who share ideas, schedule events, and compete against each other for bragging rights. I am talking about the American Homebrewers Association and they are having a membership drive this Sunday. Here are the facts:
Who: American Homebrewers Association
What: Membership Rally
Where: St. Arnold Brewery, 2000 Lyons Ave., Houston
When: Sunday, February 26, 2012, from 1pm to 3pm
Why: To learn about AHA and enjoy some St. Arnold beer
This event is open to all individuals, including current American Homebrewers Association members and prospective members. Those who want to join can sign up at a discounted rate while those who are already members can enjoy some Saint Arnold beer and converse with others about the great blessings bestowed upon AHA members.
The only cost for this event is the membership fee to join AHA. Existing members can partake in the festivities free of charge. Highlights of the afternoon include a tour of the brewery and raffle of St. Arnold and AHA souvenirs. Beer on tap will include the newly released Bitter Belgian plus a possible preview release of another St. Arnold product.
American Homebrewers Association membership includes many perks, such as a subscription to Zymurgy magazine and access to the BrewTechTalk e-mail forum. Other benefits include discounts on products and services and invitations to special events held throughout the year.
With so much fun to be had and a discounted membership to AHA just waiting to be taken, a Sunday afternoon visit to St. Arnold Brewery makes perfect sense. Add this event to your calendar and enjoy all the benefits that AHA membership has to offer.
