The recent inclement weather and sloppy road conditions certainly didn't damper the spirits of craft show attendees in Louisville this past weekend. Crafters and jewelry enthusiasts gathered at the Ramada Hotel, located at 9700 Bluegrass Parkway for the "Louisville Bead, Gem, & Jewelry Gift Show" that was held on Saturday, January 18th. The event lasted until Sunday evening and was open to the public. The American Gem Expo hosted the event, which also offered jewelry making classes this morning for anyone interested in learning the art of jewelry design.
The craft show is one of the first few craft fairs the American Gem Expo will be hosting across the United States this year. The organization usually books an average of 35 events throughout the year and includes a multitude of vendors. Independent jewelry artisans seeking unique beading mediums weren't disappointed by the products offered at this weekend's event. Some of the most unique items available were antique roman glass, fine leathers, handcrafted pendants, specialized crafting tools, and blown glass beads. Many vendors also supplied patrons with hard to find quality gemstones and fine crystals.
The vendors working this year's jewelry and bead show were a diverse group of crafters. Many designers for specialty stores, boutiques, and wedding planners had booths at the show. While some furnished raw materials for local artisans to purchase for their inventory, many others were independent artisans who offered finished handmade merchandise for their patrons. A majority of the vendors traveled across the country to showcase their products at the event.
If you weren't able to attend this weekend's jewelry show, don't worry...the American Gem Expo is scheduled to host another event in Louisville, which will also be held at the Ramada Inn on April 19th-20th. Make sure to mark your calendar...it's an event you sure won't want to miss!
