American Film Institute reveal their top 10 movies and TV shows of 2013

The American Film Institute (AFI) have revealed their official selections of the 10 best movies and 10 best television shows of 2013. As expected, the AFI’s film list is a blend of mainstream big studio fare and critically acclaimed indies – exactly the sort of list you can see the Academy Awards nominating. Last year, eight of the nine Best Picture Oscar nominees were on the AFI’s Top 10; the year before that, it was seven out of nine; in 2010, the group went nine out of 10. Technically, it would have been 10-10 that year but eventual Best Picture Oscar winner The King’s Speech wasn't eligible as it was a British production. Here’s the 2013 list:
