American Eagle Silver Dollar 2009 (Photos)

30,459,000 minted of the 2009 American eagle silver dollar. Minted by the U.S. Mint at their west point New York mint. It does have a legal tender value of one us dollar. But the bullion price is 30 to 50 bucks as silver fluctuates. The current ebay bid price is 39.95 . I picked one up through Littleton coin company for 59.95. They made 20 dollars off me because I liked the coin and did not mind paying extra. I take approvals through the mail. The coin is uncirculated, but not certified by the grading services, just the distributor.

For a roll of 20 coins minted 2013 $735.oo is the current quote price on online auction. The designer of the coin was Weimann, the same designer of the mercury dime and walking liberty half dollar. The obverse eagle has 13 stars above it, representing the original colonies of America.

The dollar coin was started in 1986. Mintage was an average four million, until 2008. Then it hit 20 to 30 million with a few exceptions. It is the same size as a morgan dollar, but wider and heavier.

Estimated cost for a whole set of american eagle dollars would be 3,000 to 10,000 dollars based on condition and special dates that were low mintage. Enjoy, it is a great coin.
