The American Dream is Under Attack: politicians like Senator Richard Shelby are the main culprit of this cancerous growth.
My fellow citizens of Alabama:
As you know I am the Democratic Nominee for US Senate.
However, I am also a concerned citizen of this state and this nation. I am concerned with the growing climate of the economy. Lost in all the numbers dealing with unemployment and poverty, is the eroding of an American proverb.
The American Dream was once something that attracted many people from all over the world to this country. The American Dream is what made this nation the greatest nation on earth.
From 1860-1930 there were wave after waves of immigrants that came through Ellis Island to have a decent living in this country. Everyone wanted to be an American. However, I am worried that the American Dream is slowly fading away.
The American Dream is under attack.
The American Dream has become outsourced to foreign competitors. This outsourcing is based on nothing more than greed. Greed has injected itself into the veins of this country and is spreading like a cancer.
Many politicians like Senator Richard Shelby, are the main culprit of this cancerous growth.
Senator Shelby has done his best to attract many new foreign companies to the great state of Alabama. American sovereignty is as risk of being taken away. We took everything that made this country the most prestigious in this country and sold it out to the lowest bidder.
Made in China has replaced the household name “Made in the USA. “
Senator Shelby’s drive to rid the country of Unions has cost this country a great price. When congress was debating the Stimulus Package (H.R. 1) that was being debated in Feb. 2009, there were provisions in the legislation that required all federal funds to go to American made products. This was designed to get American companies their fair share of competition. The provision was also designed as a source of protectionism.
This country has become too reliant of foreign goods. These foreign goods have cost America numerous jobs over the years. Foreign companies have more authority over their decisions than American companies.
In the debate of the Stimulus Package, Senator John McCain introduced an amendment (S. Amd. 279). This amendment was designed to strike out the “Buy American Provision” completely out of the Bill.
Foreign Influence has invaded our congress.
I find it ironic that the man who ran under the slogan “Country First” wanted to remove the Buy American provision in this bill. However, I am not shocked that my opponent, Senator Shelby, co-sponsored this legislation. Thankfully this amendment failed.
However, Senator Shelby did not cast a vote for an amendment that he co-sponsored.
Ladies and Gentlemen we are under attack. We are in an Economic War.
Alabama needs a fighter and not someone who will sell them out to a foreign corporation in Washington.
I am William G Barnes, The People’s Candidate!
Vote for me on Nov 2nd and we will reclaim the American Dream.
