American Craft Beer Week

"You should live every week like it's American Craft Beer Week" - Corey Wood

We can all agree with Mr. Wood on this, right? If you're not sure how to go about living like it's American Craft Beer Week, don't worry. You are in luck. Next week, May 16th-22nd, craft beer enthusiasts from all over the U.S. will be celebrating the 6th annual American Craft Beer Week. "The Mother of All Beer Weeks" as it is aptly named, puts craft beer in the focus of the national media. This provides a great opportunity for the craft beer community to come together and celebrate a growing industry and help inform people of all the great choices there are when it comes to craft beer.

American Craft Beer Week is a nationwide celebration and this will be the first time since it started that all 50 states will be hosting official events. You can bet the Kansas City area will be hosting a few of these events. Down in Westport, McCoy's, The Foundry, and Beer Kitchen will all be celebrating in their own special ways including special cask tappings, rare kegs of beer, and beer dinners. A meet and greet with local brewers is only one of the many events that Boulevard Brewing Co. will be part of next week. Also, Free State Brewing Co. in Lawrence, KS  will have a beer tasting and meet the brewers event as part of their American Craft Beer Week celebration.

If you have a favorite craft beer destination, there is a good chance they will be celebrating next week as well. And of course you could always pick up a few of your favorite craft beers from your local beer store and celebrate at home. Either way, if you're going to live every week like it's American Craft Beer Week, you better start practicing.
