American classical pianist Van Cliburn dies at 78

The music world says goodbye to another great today. American classical pianist Van Cliburn died from bone cancer, Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in Fort Worth, TX.

He made the cover of Time Magazine in 1958 as "The Texan Who Conquered Russia."

Van Cliburn was know for playing the piano for presidents and heads of state.

He received some great honors, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2003 and the 2010 National Medal of Arts.
