American Bulldog needs family to love

Shakespeare is a true gentleman.
Stacey Carson

The streets are no place for a dog. Especially an American Bulldog so true to the breed that even after being starving and homeless has tried to sneak in with a family caring for six other dogs.

Stacey Carson found the dog, not an uncommon thing for her in the part of Antioch that she lives.

"Shakespeare loves everyone," she says. "He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He gets along fine with children, dogs, goats, and livestock. We aren't sure yet about cats."

Unfortunately, Carson has rescued so many other animals already that she's finding it difficult to feed one more mouth.

"He needs a home," she told us. "It's getting desperate and I've reached out to every rescue I can think of. I hate for such a wonderful dog who has obviously been on the streets for a while to fall into the wrong hands."

Shakespeare has already been to the vet. He tested negative for heartworms and received his vaccinations. He weighs about 70 pounds but is still gaining weight. The vet has estimated his age to be around 4 years old.

If you would like to be considered as his new family, please email roedear@comcast.net. Only indoor homes will be considered and a home check will be necessary. His adoption fee is $200 and will go toward his veterinary bill.

If you've always wanted a great and loving family dog, here is your chance to own a loving and loyal breed.
