As reported last month, American Atheists already launched part one of a two part billboard campaign with a digital billboard on the New Jersey side of the Lincoln Tunnel. Now the second part of the campaign has been revealed (photo in the sidebar).
The second billboard design was to be announced during Mike Huckabee’s Fox News show, but Huckabee cancelled American Atheists president, Dave Silverman’s appearance without reason. The second billboard however will launch as scheduled.
It reads:
“Tell your family you don’t believe in gods.
… they just might agree.”
The pictures of the gods Poseidon and Jesus are featured on the billboard.
The new digital billboard is set to replace the previous billboard on Monday December 12th, 2011. It is a call for atheists to step out of the closet to their families in a similar fashion as the Richard Dawkins Foundations's "Out Campaign" and the We Are Atheism campaign. The American Atheists campaign comes just in time for the winter holidays when many closeted atheists are spending time with their theistic families.
