American Apparel nail polish in Concrete

My first American Apparel purchase was a flex fleece hoodie in forest green. I saw everyone on Capitol Hill wearing one and might have purchased it in a lame attempt to fit in. It might seem weird to have an emotional attachment to an item of clothing, but it reminds me of going away to college in Seattle and the horrors of paying sales tax. I've been hooked on their clothes ever since.

As a nail polish aficionado, I was really excited about American Apparel's nail polish collection. I was skeptical about whether they'd live up to high standards set by companies like OPI and China Glaze, but they thankfully did not let me down. The nail polish formulas are absolutely stellar. They apply smooth, dry quickly and only take two coats for full color. There are 18 colors as of now, they range from an ordinary but pretty red called Downtown L.A., and the current trend for spring, a mint green named Office.

Right now, I'm wearing Concrete. It's a gray color that looks lavender in some light. I own tons of nail polish, but this one is completely unique. I haven't seen another brand do anything like this yet. Concrete isn't too wacky for the workplace but it's still fun.

I use Seche Vite base coat and top coat to make my manicure last longer, but I would love to see American Apparel dabble in making manicure products like that. Stay tuned for future American Apparel reviews!
