On Tuesday, April 5, 2011 American Airlines and American Eagle announced their official launch of daily nonstop service from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport (PVG) in China. American Airlines becomes the first U.S. airline company to offer daily non stop service to Los Angeles and China visitors and businesses.
The service is an approvement on schedule, choices, routes for their customers and part of oneworld alliance partnership with British Airways and Iberia Airlines. Travelers who purchase first class cabin will receive the following features: Premium food and beverage service, selection of new nine ergonomic seats with adjustable headrest on the CRJ-700 aircraft. American Eagle started with Los Angeles daily nonstop service on April 5, Also Iberian Airlines started the same service from Los Angeles to Madrid. British Airways is set to offer the same nonstop fly service from San Diego, CA to London on June 1st.
“Los Angeles is a key international gateway for American, as well as our oneworld partners,” said Derek DeCross, American’s Vice President – Sales. He concluded “Our focus is on providing customers with as many travel options as possible at LAX, and that’s what our moves today are all about. These new routes, along with our joint businesses with British Airways, Iberia and Japan Airlines, give customers more choices for flights, connections and ways to earn AAdvantage miles.”
American Airlines want to celebrate with their customers, so they are offering the following incentive for travelers:Earn triple AAdvantage miles by purcharsing First Class or Business Class fare on LAX to Shanghai and for Economy Class fare they earn double AAdvantage miles. This offer is valid immediately to June 30.

Consul General Ambassador Qiu Shaofang of the People's Republic of China to Los Angeles said “American’s flight from Los Angeles-Shanghai will not only benefit the people of our two countries, but also play a positive role in enhancing the friendship of our two peoples and promoting the economic and tourism cooperation between our two nations."
