Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were the center of attraction at JFK after an American Airlines employee caused them to set off security alarms throughout the airport. The incident occurred during Kim and Kanye's return home from Brazil on Tuesday (February 12).
The power couple were waiting in line to be cleared by TSA agents so they could catch an outbound flight to LAX when an American Airlines employee decided to take them through a restricted area. Although initially allowed to board the plane, Kim and Kanye were soon asked to step off and be cleared as agents in the backend noticed the suspicious activity via surveillance camera.
TSA was sure to clear Kardashian and West's name by telling the press that it was the employee, not the power couple, who caused the mishap. "An airline employee escorted the two travelers through a non-public area in order to provide expedited access to their domestic flight," said a spokesperson for the agency. "In doing so, the airline employee violated security protocols by permitting the travelers to bypass the TSA security checkpoint."
Kim and Kanye were subjected to a private screening as a result of the violation, and all passengers aboard the plane were delayed for one hour. The couple are expecting their first child together in July.
