President Barack Obama is making his first trip to Israel during his administration, and its not one the newly elected Premier Benjamin Netanyahu is very anxious to see. Obama has a dislike for Netanyahu and it hardly can be smoothed over with one politically motivated trip by the Obama Administration.
Newly confirmed secretary of defense Chuck Hagel is no friend of Israel. Secretary of State John Kerry is not far behind the attitudes already conveyed by Hagel. The upcoming trip to Israel in less than two weeks is more about putting pressure on Israel to capitulate to Obama’s plan to divide Jerusalem and give Samaria with some additional territory to the Palestinians for a new Palestinian state.
Netanyahu’s Likud Party has only 31 seats in the new Knesset and Netanyahu must secure the support of the Labor Party and Yesh Atid Party to acquire their combined 34 seats to have a coalition majority. The advance team of Obama is already in Israel in meeting encouraging the two parties not to cooperate with Netanyahu. If this is done, there is a good chance new elections would be necessary and Netanyahu would be out even though he won the majority of votes in the last election. Needless to say, Obama would be thrilled if Netanyahu was removed.

The Leftist Party in Israel appears ready to throw support to divide Jerusalem in order to achieve the pretense of peace. You can bet Obama’s team has been behind the scenes drumming up support and backing for the initiatives of this Leftist Party.
Land for peace never works and all one has to do is to inspect the broken promises of the past. The Gaza Strip has already been a portion of the land for peace process and Hamas daily fires rockets into Israel. Logically it would be foolish for Israel to enter into any agreement where the doctrines of Hamas and Hezbollah call for Israel’s destruction. It would be like America entering into a peace agreement with the Taliban after 9/11 and splitting Washington DC for the Taliban capital with Virginia thrown in.
Most importantly it would be a tragic betrayal of Israel. The doctrines of the Jewish and Christian faiths clearly outlines the spiritual significance of Israel and Jerusalem while there is no major value concerning Jerusalem in the Koran or spoken of by the prophet Mohammed. The Jews have more legal and historical right to Judea and the surrounding territory than any nation in history.
President Obama will have his hands full attempting to convince the Knesset when he addresses the 120 member body that dividing Jerusalem and giving up Samaria is a great idea. America will be on the wrong side of God with Obama’s attempt to arm twist Israel into giving up more concessions by territory. It will be an extraordinary piece of negotiation to convince Israel to give up additional land. There must be something in Obama’s bag of tricks that will encourage Israel to go with this ill-advised peace plan. It will be the first time in human history land for peace will work…and this fact is a major cog in the peace initiative.
Not one country has done well by going against Israel. Many scoff at the notion that God exists and does little regarding human events in this technologically advanced world. However Israel’s ability to survive and flourish when plots against her has been going on for thousands of years is more than just luck.
It has been ordained by God.
