The real truth is that America's Second Great Depression started around January 1, 2005. Why? Because that's approximately when all 6 Fundamentals of the U.S. Economy started to decrease for the first time in history. When all 6 Fundamentals of our economy are increasing the way they did for approximately the first 230 years of our country's history, our economy will grow and prosper. However, when they are decreasing the way they have been for last several years, it is the equivalent of a patient (our economy) having terminal cancer not a bad cold.
All government economic stimulants since 2005, including 1) stimulus checks, 2) tax cuts, 3) tax credits, 4) reducing interest rates, 5) TARP Funds, 6) Recovery Act, and 7) Stimulus Package, have miserably failed to stimulate our economy in a positive direction because, conceptually, they have not resulted in increasing the 6 Fundamentals of the U.S. economy. These 6 Fundamentals are as follows.
Fundamental #1: Consumer Income And Disposable Income
Fundamental #2: Consumer Borrowing
Fundamental #3: Consumer Spending
Fundamental #4: Real Estate Ownership
Fundamental #5: Real Estate Values
Fundamental #6: Real Estate Equity
Until a new generation of politicians with brains and backbone create and pass the proper types of economic stimulus legislation, tragically and unnecessarily, the U.S. real estate market and overall economy will continue to deteriorate both very badly and very quickly.
