'America's Next Top Model' recap: things get a bit hairy

At the start of this episode of "America's Next Top Model," the girls were paid a visit by one pioneer of the fashion world (Pat Cleveland) and one reality TV star that has only been known for about a year or two (Whitney Port). The girls give the models-to-be a "confidence makeover" (which I guess is a little bit less important than a regular makeover) and then take them to their next task.

Imagine the girls' surprise then when they walked into what was apparently a very large drag party. Not only that -- it was a runway challenge! Alexandra (who has the dubious honor of completely wiping out earlier in the season) is already shaking in her plus-size boots.

In the end, she end up over-thinking it and trying way too hard. Angelea (who is on a roll at this point) and Krista were the two strongest, and Krista ended up winning the prize -- a few pieces from Port's collection. All in all, though, this challenge seemed rather pointless since they were exaggerating all of the runway moves for extra points.

What happened next was pure hilarity. For  some reason, Alasia has this terribly nasty habit of not wanting to get ready on time. She had already made the gang late once, and this time the elevator left without her. It would have been a million times funnier if the group had actually left her -- instead, she just took the stairs down and joined the group.

The photo shoot this week was actually a little disturbing -- watching the models try to take photos with hair all over her body. It was like watching a caveman shoot, except with people taunting each other. For some reason they divided the group up into teams, which really made no sense because everyone modeled individually.

The strong players this week included Krista (continuing the pattern), Angelea, and Raina. From the looks of things, it appears that Alexandra is the strong favorite to leave -- she hasn't been particularly great in a while, and her confidence is down (then again, that terrible outfit didn't do her a ton of favors).

(Did anyone else think their announcement of "we're going to New Zealand was a little trippy? It's great news, but the sheep and the Zs in the air drove me nuts.)

It was no surprise to see Krista stay in the competition, but I was shocked to ultimately see Anslee leave the competition simply because she was too much of a "beauty model" and didn't work it head to toe. I will miss her fights with Alasia over frozen vegetables.
