During the opening moments of "America's Next Top Model," we quickly learned that the house was divided between two factions:
- Faction One (the "real" people): Krista, Alasia, Angelea, and Anslee
- Faction Two (the "false confidence" people): Jessica, Raina, and Brenda
The strange part of these factions? Anslee and Alasia are on the same time despite screaming at each other over refrigerated goods a few episodes ago.
The first "challenge" this week wasn't really a challenge at all -- rather, it was an opportunity for the girls to get some free clothing from Seventeen Magazine that fit their individual body type. They were a little pressed for time, though, since Alasia decided to take a shower and make everyone late.
This delay sparked a reaction from Miss J at the challenge, and then a fight back in the car ride home. It started as being Alasia vs. Jessica, but somehow it ended up being Alasia vs. Raina for no apparent reason. This ultimately escalated into a hilarious bit later where Alasia decided to listen in to Jessica talk about the two of them in the confessional room.
Now, I find it funny to begin with that the show is allowing the contestants to hang out near the confessional room -- isn't that supposed to be your sanctuary? Anyway, the whole "spying" bit managed to turn the models into 12-year olds playing gossip.

Oh, and there were also two more tasks this week. The first one involved going to a party, acting professional, and making contacts. Jessica (who seems to be making a habit of winning just about everything) aced it without a problem, while Alasia spent more time touching her hair than talking to any contacts -- at the end, she also managed to say "do I get up and leave now?"
Our "girl with dark hair but little to no personality" Jessica ultimately ended up winning the challenge, and was given a Seventeen photo shoot as a result with two of her friends -- who is surprised that she chose Brenda and Raina? (Answer: no one.)
Following some more fighting, we then got to see the women try and portray "New York women" on the subway. First of all, this was probably the most ridiculous idea for a shoot I have seen in years on this program. Sure, there are "aspiring actresses" and "fashionistas" in New York, but having Alasia portray a "model on a go-see" was a real disservice to her. Granted, the girl was so bad she would have messed up a math test with all the answers in front of her -- but this was still a disadvantage and it showed even more through her photos. It's like the show is so tired of her being late that they want her gone.
At the elimination, Raina and Angelea received mass praise while Brenda and Alasia were the target of plenty of criticism. Somehow, though, Alasia managed to stay in the competition over Brenda (I guess for drama purposes if nothing else). This season's redhead lacked the fire, and was therefore shown the door.
