America's Next Top Model Cycle 16 - Episode 10 - Off to Morocco - National America's Next Top Model

The top 5 of America's Next Top Model Cycle 16 arrive in their international destination, Marrakech, Morocco this week. In the bus, after leaving the airport, Brittani reminisces about being so lucky to have come this far, seeing as she came from a trailer park. Alexandria is on a high from her previous week's best picture. Molly, on the other hand is in a typical bad mood, and she interviews that she thinks she shouldn't have been in the bottom two last week, even though she admits that she has anger problems that stem from being adopted, and having abandonment issues. She's upset that she has to be fake, and pretend that she's happy all the time.

The bus arrives at a bazaar, and the girls admire the different items for sale, and even stop to watch a man playing a horned instrument and taming live cobras.

All of a sudden, two men turn around, and who should they be but Ms. J and Mr. Jay. They welcome the girls to the country, and tell them they will be treated to traditional Moroccan food, and get a special fashion tour of Marrakech. There's men carrying around monkeys, and one puts one of them on Alexandria's shoulders, and everyone snaps a photo, then it's off to lunch.

After a lunch of delicious Moroccan food, the girls are shuttled off to Villa Amir, where they enter a showroom of beautiful clothes, and who should be there to greet them? Andre Leon Talley. He introduces them to Noureddine Amir, who is the designer of the fashions they are viewing. Andre tells the girls that he and Noureddine have selected some clothing from his line that they want the girls to try on, and show off their runway walk.

The girls go into dressing rooms to try on their dresses, and Kasia finds that her dress doesn't fit. She tries on several other designs, and they too are too small for her plus-sized body. This starts to wear on her, and she starts to lose her confidence, for the first time in the competition. Finally, they do find a skirt and top to fit her, but it's not as dramatic as the styles the other girls wore. One thing that Kasia did have that none of the others had, was her heels. The other girls walked in their designs barefoot. Andre praises Kasia for being the only one who was prepared, and tells the others that they should always carry a pair of heels in their bag in case they are needed. He gives a short critique on everyone's walk, saying that Brittani has the most high fashion walk.

Time to head out to another location, and Molly, once again starts to complain about everything, saying she wished that they would just get to the hotel, so they could all go to sleep.

The girls arrive at another location, where they walk up to the rooftop terrace, where who is waiting there for them? Andre Leon Talley again. He is seated on some couches, and has some Moroccan tea, and invites the girls to sit and sip with him. After a short chat, he reveals that this is their home in Morocco.

The girls excitedly run downstairs to check out their new pad, which is large and luxurious. There are two single beds, then one large bed to sleep three. The bathroom has a large soaking tub, and there is a pool and an outdoor shower. Hannah and Alexandria make note of the two single beds, and each of them claim one, leaving Brittany, Kasia and Molly to share a bed. Of course, Molly has to take the time to complain about having to share a bed.

The next day the girls get up to find a Tyra mail!

"You've made it this far, but you're not over the hump yet. Love, Tyra"

Everyone gets ready, and the bus transports the girls to the Marrakech desert, where they meet up with Mr. Jay, who is astride a camel. He tells them they'll be shooting atop a camel, and it's not as easy as it looks. After disembarking from the camel, Mr. Jay then introduces the girls to today's photographer, Michael Wooley.

Brittany is first to shoot, and she tries a bunch of different poses. Mr. Jay is quite impressed. When it's Molly's turn, she too has a great shoot, which has Mr. Jay gushing. Mr. Jay is really disappointed when it comes to Kasia's shoot, however. Kasia seems to have problems posing, and he thinks she looks too catalog. Alexandria is thrilled to be working with animals again, and can't wait to start her shoot. She talks with the photographer a bit before starting her shoot, and says she can't wait to start, and wants to "hit it out of the park." The photographer takes her literally, saying that it's not baseball. Things don't get off to the best start for her. As she starts her shoot, she struggles, and Mr. Jay interviews that she needs to relinquish some of the control. The last to shoot is Hannah who seems at one with the camel, and her shoot is magical. Both the photographer and Mr. Jay were super impressed with her shoot.

When the girls return home, they're greeted with the elimination Tyra mail.

"Tomorrow you will meet with the judges. Only four will continue on in the hope of becoming America's Next Top Model."

Time for panel. Tyra introduces the judges, including Vogue Italia Editor-in-Chief Franca Sozzani. She tells the girls about the prizes, contract with IMG Models, spread in Vogue Italia, cover and spread in Fashion in Vogue, and a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl.

The girls went up one by one to have their photo critiqued.

First up is Brittani. Nigel loves that she looks androgynous. He thought it had a Lawrence of Arabia feel to it. Franca thinks Brittani isn't natural enough, but ALT says it reminds him of something out of the 1960s Vogue. He called it dramatic and high fashion. Tyra likes that Brittani is taking a risk with her pose, standing on the camel, but warns her to make sure she doesn't hurt herself.

Alexandria is next. Nigel loves the way her upper body looks, but isn't crazy about her leg positioning. ALT thinks Alexandria looks angry, and tells her she needs to learn to relax her face. Franca likes the photo, but thinks that the arms look a bit stiff. Tyra told Alexandria that her film was inconsistent, and that the photographer said that she was talking back to him on the set, and trying to instruct him. Nigel warns her that this is something that has been said before, and she needs to be aware of her attitude, and take direction, not give it.

Next up is Kasia. Nigel likes it, but wishes she had a softer look in her eyes. Tyra said that it looked like Kasia was uncomfortable in all her shots, with a lot of tension in her mouth. ALT thinks she has a lack of energy, and Franca didn't like it either.

Molly is next. Franca thinks she looks very natural, and likes her body positioning. ALT thinks it's an amazing photograph, and that Molly has done a splendid job at showing off the fashion.

Last to be critiqued is Hannah. Nigel thinks her shot is very different than any of the others, and thinks that it looks very current. ALT thinks she looks edgy, and she's showcasing the clothes really well. Franca really likes the photo, but isn't sure about the expression in her face. Tyra told Hannah that looking through all her film, she thought she looked amazing.

The judges sent the girls out of the room, while they deliberated.

The bottom two are Alexandria and Kasia. The judges think Alexandria takes beautiful, strong photos, but not as good as the girls called before her. They think she has talent, but it's spotty. The judges think Kasia is also spotty. Sometimes she will have great shoots, but other times, she really struggles. And, they're worried that Kasia has lost her confidence. Who will stay, and who will go? Alexandria lives to fight another day, while Kasia packs her bags, and heads back to the U.S.A..

Next week, the top 4 will have to do a challenge balancing a platter with lighted candles on their head. Someone will have to deal with being sick, and another girl will be dealing with confidence issues. Tune in next Wednesday night at 9:00 pm on The CW to find out who will be going to the finale.
