We are down to the final two, Brittaniand Molly. Which one will become America's Next Top Model? Read on.
The girls come home to their model apartment to see the winning photo from Molly on the flat screen TV. Molly is stoked that she's doing so well this late in the game. This was her third best photo in a row. Molly interviews that she realizes that Brittani is a fierce competitor. She's got a better walk than Molly does, but Molly takes better photos.
Time for Tyra mail!
"Sahel, Khafif, Zoulnah."
The girls aren't sure what it means, but think it's got to have something to do with their CoverGirl commercial.
The next day, the girls arrive at a country club, where they're met by Ivan Bart from IMG models. He tells them that he would like to speak to them each individually, and get to know them, and go over their portfolios, which they conveniently brought with them.
In speaking with Molly, he asks her when she first decided she wanted to be a model. She tells him that it was when she was 12-years-old. She had a bowl haircut and gap teeth, and didn't look like a model, but she wanted to do it anyway. She wants to be a muse for a designer. Ivan takes a look at Molly's portfolio, and is quite impressed.
Next, Ivan talks to Brittani, and asks her how she would feel if he told her she had to move to Milan for six months. She tells him that she would be fine with it. She had never been away from home for more than a week up until the competition, but now she's been gone for over two months, and she's doing fine. She realizes that her family is always going to be there for her. Her mother told her that her opportunities are elsewhere, so that is where Brittani will go to realize her dream.
After meeting with Ivan, they go to meet with Mr. Jay, who tells them that they're going to be doing their CoverGirl photo shoot next, and that the photographer is Pierpaolo Ferrari. The winning girl will have their shot become a nationwide print ad. They'll be plugging CoverGirl's Lip Perfection Lip Color. Mr. Jay will be directing their commercial shoot. This time, they'll be shooting on a white backdrop, but they'll have three camera's shooting them, so they'll have to deliver in all three directions. They'll need to learn a script, but will have a teleprompter on the center camera only.
Brittani is worried, since she didn't do well on her previous experiences with commercials. When Mr. Jay listens to her read her script, he tells her that she's reciting it like one long run-on sentence, and she needs to work on that.
During Molly's shoot, she had problems being natural. She looked gorgeous, but she ended up doing much better when she just let loose and was herself. Mr. Jay thought she looked beautiful, but thought that in the end, she seemed to loose her charm.
During Brittani's commercial shoot, she had problems delivering her lines without sounding like she was just reading a laundry list. She started having confidence issues, and started tearing up. But, when Mr. Jay suggested she pretend she was talking to her three best friends, she rocked it.
It's time for Molly's print ad shoot. She met with Pierpaolo, and he was really impressed with her shoot. When it was time for Brittani's print ad shot, Pierpaolo was also pleased with her, remarking that he really liked her styling, which is sort of retro, like models from the past.
The next day, the girls go to a huge mansion where they will film their Italian Vogue spread. When they enter the courtyard, they find Pierpaolo standing with Valentina Serra, who is the stylist for Vogue Italia.
It's off to hair and makeup, and then we see Brittani's shoot first. The photographer said that she was very professional, and the stylist said that she could tell that Brittani enjoyed working.
When Brittani was done, she went into the small room where Molly was eating some lunch, and found out that Molly was in a bad mood, which stemmed from her not doing well the day before. When it was time for Molly's shoot, she complained that it was cold, and she was in skimpy lingerie, sitting on the cold tile floor. When she was done, the stylist commented that Molly lost some of her energy.
When the girls got back to their Moroccan home, they opened the door to find Molly's parents waiting for her. Her mood changed immediately. Brittani was a bit sad to think that her mother would not be able to come there because she just got back surgery, and still has anxiety disorder problems. But, never fear… Brittani will get to speak with her mom via video chat, so she feels better after a quick talk with her mom.
After a quick bite, Molly's parents take off and the girls think about going to bed, but not before a late night Tyra mail!
"Tomorrow's runway will be modeling mania. Love, Tyra"
The next day, the bus takes the girls to the Granada Palace, where they meet Mr. Jay. He tells the girls they'll be doing a Top Model first, a salon-style fashion show. It will be very intimate, moving from one room to another, to another. The designer for the show is Vivienne Westwood. They'll be modeling clothes from ther "Anglomania" line. They'll also be sharing the runway with some familiar faces -- Kasia, Alexandria and Hannah. Plus, they'll also be walking with last Cycle's winner, Ann. All the girls come out, and Ann wishes the girls luck.
Hannah is rooting for Brittani. Alexandriais rooting for Molly, and Kasia is split, saying her orange eye makeup side is rooting for Molly, and the pink eye makeup side is rooting for Brittani.
Backstage, Molly chats with her parents before the show, and Tyra walks in and talks with them as well. She then goes and gives Brittani a little pep talk as well, then goes to sit down.
From the second floor, several people drop down rose petals onto the runway floor below. Annopens the show, and the other girls follow. Each girl has two times on the runway before the third time out, when Molly and Brittani pose and walk together. They pose together in front of the judges, and all of a sudden Brittani starts giggling because they look like they're in some kind of sex pose. As they're walking back, Brittani has a mishap where here shoe slips on the rose petals and she crashes into the wall and hurts her foot. Molly helps her up, and they go backstage, where they put some ice on it for a short bit, but she has to go back out for the finale.
When they get back after the finale, Mr. Jay says that the competition is so tight that they want to kick it up even more, and they will give them both new looks for panel.
Later that evening at panel, we see the girls' new looks, which is really short pixie style haircuts. Tyra introduces the judges, Nigel Barker, Andre Leon Talley and Mr. Jay. Time for deliberation.
First, they evaluate their walks, starting with Brittani. They loved her walk, and thought she did great up to where the broke out laughing, which Tyra said wasn't cool. Mr. Jay is impressed that she pushed past the pain when she went back out for the finale, and ALT likes her urban walk.
They like Molly's walk as well, but aren't crazy about her little bounce. ALT didn't like it either. Tyra did like it though.
We see the final CoverGirl commercial, and it really turned out well. With their single takes, they look at Brittani first, and Nigel talks about the two different sides of Brittani's face. They thought Molly looked mean. Mr. Jay did point out that Molly memorized her whole script, and that's not something most girls can do.
Now on to the CoverGirl still shots. With Brittani, they think she looks a bit startled. ALT doesn't like the positioning of her hand. Tyra liked that Brittani really showcased the lipstick, which is what she was selling, so that was a good thing.
On Molly's CoverGirl still shot, Nigel thinks she looks stunning, the way the light is hitting her face. ALT thinks the photo should be framed and put in a salon.
The judges deliberated while the girls left the room, and when they returned, the winner was announced. And America's Next Top Model is… Brittani.
