Last week on America's Next Top Model the girls had a lesson in projecting different emotions, as they visited a show of the "Upright Citizen's Brigade." They took their new emoting skills and used them in a CoverGirl challenge, which had them performing live on a jumbotron in Times Square with a voiceover CoverGirl commercial to guide them. Tatianna was the winner, as she did more than just stand there and look pretty. She flipped her hair and really gave some energy to the commercial. She will be featured in an advertorial shoot in Seventeen magazine, as well as be featured on CoverGirl.com.

Brenda got an edgier haircut, as Sally Hershberger came back to the model loft to shave the sides, giving her more height in the middle. But, Brenda was worried afterwards, that she wouldn't be able to rock the new look.

The photo shoot was vampire-inspired, leaving the girls posing in a bathtub of blood with a male model. Alasia came out on top for a second week in a row, and Simone was eliminated. Who will be head of the pack this week, and who will be packing up and going home. Read on.

The beginning of the show featured the models receiving mail from home, and Anslee was really emotional to read a letter from her daughter, who was really missing her. This made Anslee miss her daughter even more than she already did.

Time for the first Tyra mail!

"U don't have 2 b a scientist 2 b good at chemistry. Luv, Tyra"

The next day, the girls pile in the limo and are whisked off to Roosevelt Island, where they meet Miss J. He tells them that it's important for models to have chemistry when working with models of the opposite sex, both on the runway and in photo shoots. They will have a teach about this, where they will have to test their skills on a former male model that they all know and love. They will board a tram, and have 3 minutes to break the ice. They all wonder who the male model is.

Angelea is first, and when she enters the tram, she finds out that the male model is none other than Nigel Barker. She decides to try to make him laugh by doing her "Hammer dance." She gets up and starts dancing around like MC Hammer, and it's really funny. Nigel interviews saying, Angelea...chemistry is about not always going to extremes. Ultimately, you've got to be you."

Alexandra is next. She tries a more direct approach, telling Nigel, "Don't look now, but there is an insanely hot, tall girl standing next to you. I'm gonna say, 5'11", hips that don't lie, 36C." Nigel interviews, "She's a beautiful girl. She doesn't have to tell me."

Tatianna is next, and introduces herself to Nigel, shaking his hand. She decides to comment on his green tennies and orange socks, asking if that is England-style, and she doesn't know if that will go over here. Nigel interviews, "Tatianna played the whole break you down, and ... oh no, I don't have time to build you up routine. So, I was just miserable by the end."

Anslee was kind of freaked that the male model was Nigel, since she had a bad experience with him in panel last week, and she's worried now. Anslee decides to ask Nigel to tell something interesting about himself. She then asks if he has children, and goes on to say that she is a mother of a three-year-old. Nigel interviews, "Anslee... I thought she was being herself. It was honest. It was the truth."

Probably the most uncomfortable scene to watch had to be Jessica, who decided to really come on strong to Nigel. She tells him he's cute, then she goes over and starts grabbing his arm and getting into his space, and putting her leg up around him. When Nigel says she's making him uncomfortable, Jessica says they should just take their clothes off, and she'll help him get comfortable. Miss J, who is watching in the background is breaking down laughing. Nigel interviews, "Oh my goodness, me. I've never seen anything like that before in my life!"

After they were done, Nigel says that it was interesting, and reminds them that they should just be themselves. There was no specifics on how they did.

Later, Nigel meets them and tells them that now that they learned how to fake chemistry, it's time for a challenge, and the challenge will be judged by Ann Shoket from Seventeen magazine. She tells them they'll be posing in a photo shoot that calls for intimacy. Nigel will shoot them, and Ann will help pick the winning photo. He then introduces the guy they'll be doing their shoot with... comedian Ross Matthews. He's upstairs in a floor-to-ceiling window, in a building across the street. Nigel will be shooting them from the street, taking photos of the affectionate moments, and, oh yes, they only will have five shots to get it right. Oh, that should be fun.

Raina interviews that she has seen Ross before, and he's hilarious, but he's not the most handsome gentlemen in the entire world. Nigel then tells the girls that the winner will receive $6500.00 worth of diamonds from Jude Frances Jewelry.

Off to hair and makeup. Ross is dressed in a business suit, with a hat, and the girls are all dressed in sexy lingerie, and Angelea is especially enamored of the way she looked.

One by one the girls took their turns posing with Ross. Krista had a hard time getting Ross to focus. Raina gets on top of Ross, and he says, "Oh, you're riding me like a bull." Anslee isn't afraid when she steps up to Ross. She gets some decent shots in. Alasia and Brenda are shown next. Angelea puts her leg up on his shoulder. Nigel, down on the street is not sure what she's doing showing her crotch, but he says he'll just snap a pic anyway. Jessica, once again, takes control, and does a good job. Tatianna wears his tie and hat. Nigel is confused. Last, is Alexandra, who has some uninspiring photos.

Nigel comes up, and Ann says that the shoot was really steamy. They thought Tatianna's pics were good in spots, but other spots felt contrived. Nigel was impressed with Jessica, and brings up the way she acted in the teach, saying that that kind of attitude works in this situation. Anslee didn't find the light. The winner is Jessica. Alasia, as the winner from last week also gets some diamonds. Both girls are so excited.

Back at the model house, we have a short scene, as Anslee calls her dad, saying how much she misses her daughter and husband, and she breaks down crying.

Time for another Tyra mail.

"2morrow ur going 2 find out who's fake, and who keeps it real. Luv, Tyra"

The next day, the limo brings the girls to canal street where they find the Jay's looking at some items that a street vendor is selling. They are fake designer items. Mr. Jay tells Miss J that it's illegal to buy fake designer items and they'll fall apart in a week. Miss J disagrees, saying that Tyra's birthday is coming up. He asks the vendor the price, and goes to pay for his items and the vendor pulls out a badge and tells Miss J that he's busted. Miss J runs away, and Mr. Jay says, "End scene. The biggest fashion crime you guys can ever commit is to purchase knockoff goods. Designers work so hard to create their designs, and the fashion industry loses up to 9.2 billion dollars a year, due to counterfit goods, which costs a lot of people a lot of jobs." So, to raise awareness of the cost of being fake, their photo shoot will have the girls wearing fake nails, fake lashes, fake everything, head-to-toe. So, it's off to get their fake designer duds and hair and makeup done.

The street vendor is actually their photographer, D-Nice. He is also an accomplished DJ and photographer, who just shot Halle Barrie and Tyra.

Tatianna is first. Mr. Jay is not happy with her shoot at first, as Tatianna is using her hands too much. Later on, it worked a bit better. Alasia does well, as does Raina. Mr. Jay was really pleased that Raina was aware of what the makeup artist did to her face, and she really sold the look. Jessica decides to really do some crazy poses, and Mr. Jay is in love. Krista uses her body really well. He doesn't say too much with Brenda, but he wasn't overly happy with her.

Anslee is still in an unhappy mood, missing her daughter, and when she comes on set, Mr. Jay tells her that he's expecting her to deliver who she is as a brand. Mr. Jay tells Anslee that she is getting a little pinuppy, in a man's magazine kind of way. She tries a few other things, and finally gets it at the end. Angelea does some couture-like poses, and Mr. Jay is happy with it. Alexandra is feeing like she isn't sure if she is doing the right things, and her self-confidence is really low. When she does her shoot, Mr. Jay is disappointed in her performance. He gives her a 7 out of 10.

Time for the skull of death Tyra mail.

"Tomorrow you will meet with the judges. Only 8 will continue on in the hope of becoming America's Next Top Model."

Time for panel. Tyra introduces the judges, Nigel Barker, André Leon Talley and Pat Clevelend, who is a former supermodel who also had a modeling agency, and Tyra was one of the models in her agency.

Below are the comments for each girl's photo.

  • Krista - Nigel appreciates the way Krista can show all her different moves. Pat loves Krista's skintone reflecting all the lights.
  • Brenda - Nigel mentions the photo shoot that he shot of Brenda, and that she lacked chemistry in them. In this picture, he can see the life.ALT calls her the "pouty dog."
  • Alexandra - ALT says that Alexandra lucked out because the styling has carried her over. Tyra likes it. She doesn't love it, but she likes it.
  • Tatianna - ALT calls her a blasé broken doll. She looks like she's been to every party and is looking for the next one. Tyra mentions that Tatianna's film was the weakest, but that she always ends up with a shot that makes her a "middle runner." Nigel said he noticed the same thing in his photo shoot. She had 5 shots, and 4 of them were horrible, but there was one that was stellar. He says she really has to work on that.
  • Anslee - Tyra loves her face in the picture. Nigel says it's fake for him, but in all the right ways.
  • Angelea - ALT says he would love to talk to her if he saw her on the street. Tyra says Angelea looks like she's saying, "I'm fake, and what are you going to do about it?"
  • Jessica - ALT loves that she is the first to have her feet off the ground. Nigel says it's full of energy.
  • Raina - Tyra loves the twist that Raina is giving her body. She mentions that Raina has a square torso, and this helps hide that.
  • Alasia - ALT loves it. Nigel says the body is fantastic, but he wishes that she wasn't looking down.

The judges will deliberate and then call the girls back and let them know who will be eliminated.

The call-outs went as follows:

  1. Jessica
  2. Angelea
  3. Krista
  4. Alasia
  5. Anslee
  6. Brenda
  7. Raina

The bottom two are Alexandra and Tatianna. Alexandra needs to learn to work her body better. Tatianna is consistantly producing horrible photo shoots with one good picture. So, who will go home? Tatianna will pack her bags. Oddly, this is the second week that a girl won the challenge one week, and the next week, she was history. Case in point: Simone won the go-see challenge with Bluefly.com one week, and the next week, she was gone. Tatianna won the CoverGirl challenge, and the next week, she was gone too. Does that mean that Jessica will be eliminated next week?

Next week the girls will be doing a CoverGirl shoot, and Angelea turns on the drama, causing friction in the house.
