'America's Got Talent': Jerry Springer predicts good things for Howard Stern

Howard Stern has already brought a great deal of controversy to "America's Got Talent" without the show even airing yet -- and someone with plenty of experience on the NBC broadcast is already predicting big things for the radio host.

Speaking in a new interview with Sirius XM, Jerry Springer (who hosted the show before Nick Cannon came on board) expressed his admiration for Howard -- and for the brave move by NBC to put him on the air:

"There couldn't be a better pick ... I think he's perfect for it. Clearly, he's going to have an opinion. He's not going to say everyone's wonderful. He'll bring his own fanbase to the show ... [when it comes to toning himself down,] he knows that he's dealing with a Middle America show, so he will work within the bounds of that."

Cannon has cautioned Howard that there will be a good many long days during production, but Springer says that the host will be ready for it thanks to some of the work he has put in over the years.
