The brand new San Francisco's James R Herman Cruise Ship Terminal in piers 27 and 29 has been officially turned over to the America’s Cup Event Authority who will make it the focus of the America’s Cup Park during the Summer of Racing in San Francisco this year.

The America's Cup Park will host the America’s Cup Media Center, and have areas for the competing teams, for public exhibitions, as well as food and beverage points. It is also going to be used for a series of concerts during the summer. The acts that have been announced so far are: Imagine Dragons (May 31), Sting (June 2), Train (Aug 11) and Jason Mraz (Sep 1).

In addition to the America’s Cup Park, the America’s Cup Village (Marina Green) will be the two major event locations during the “Summer of Racing” in San Francisco. According to the organizers, both sites will be linked by a two-mile “fan walk” along the Embarcadero, starting from Pier 27 and passing Pier 39, SS Jeremiah O’Brien at Pier 45, Aquatic Park and around to Marina Green.
