Cosmetologists and other beauty salon professionals from across the Midwest made their way today to McCormick Place Saturday for the kickoff of America's Beauty Show, the premiere trade-show for beauty industry professionals in the region.
The Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau, estimates America's Beauty Show will draw over 60,000 beauty salon professionals and have " a $60.2 million impact on the local economy."
America's Beauty Show features approximately 400 exhibits from beauty product manufacturers, retailers, distributors, and salon owners. Attendees will be able to learn new techniques in hair styling, color and extensions. Classes and workshops are also being offered by some of the industry's top experts on a variety of topics. According to a press release from Dori Wilson Public Relations,
"International celebrity stylists coming in for America’s Beauty Show include Tabatha, on behalf of LUXHAIR, a new line of hair extensions… Kim Vo, from “Extreme Makeover”, “Daily 10”, and “Shear Genius”, whose celebrity clients have included Britney Spears, Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson… Tracey Hughes, direct from Australia and former UK Hairdresser of the Year… Richard Ashforth, from London and Montreal, whose experience includes Fashion Week shows for John Galliano, Hermes, and Vivienne Westwood, and a range of celebrities from the world of film, art, music… Jan Arnold, owner of Creative Nail Design (CND), known for her innovative Shellac, the popular two-week manicure… Lydia Sarfati, known as “The Queen of Seaweed”, showcasing her facial bar and other treats from the sea!"
