With the changing of the seasons comes changes in the form of negative and positive actions. Some people change their exercise routine and start exercising more or less depending on if they prefer the cold weather over hot and vice versa. Some people will want to end summer activities that was taking them out of the house daily or weekly in favor of staying inside where it will soon be warmer than the outdoors. But no matter what change is involved you can benefit from changing how you eat as well. In the upcoming colder months American's will want to stay indoors more, and with that comes virus growth as talked about in a recent article published on this column. With the growth of viruses comes the flu and cold season, so it would be a better alternative to change how you eat than to continue on in your usual eating fashion. For instance, if you were eating more junk food in the warmer months, more sweets and not really watching how you cook your foods you might want to think about cutting the sweets and most of the junk foods out completely as well as eating more baked foods instead of fried.
With the warmer months came the BBQ's and the picnics and with those usually is involved some sort of red meat and foods high in saturated fat and for the kids sugary treats, ice cream and fruits that are usually high in sugar. So for the winter months there can be a lot of changes with that routine as well. Besides in the summer you can't use the oven for baking as well as you can in the winter because it is just to hot, but in the winter it would be a good change to bake, you get the health benefits as well as a heated home. But what are foods that you should watch out for and foods that you can use to replace those you should watch out for? That is what this article is all about, watch for two 10 part series's from this Examiner in the very near future. In fact one may have already been published. In the first 10 part series we will explore "America's 10 worst foods" to eat and in the second 10 part series we will talk about what ten foods you can use to replace those ten bad foods.
