…The alarm clock goes off and some folks will drag themselves out of bed, others hit the snooze button, and morning people jump up smiling, ready to start the new day. Let’s face it America, we don’t need Americans who have to be prodded to do what’s right. America doesn’t need more Americans who let everyone else do their job. The USA needs morning people who are jumping on the bandwagon to save America! America needs people who will bring unity! We don’t need more political clubs, political committees, political agencies, political panels, and political agendas! Every acronym under the sun is getting involved making things worse, not better! We need red, white, and blue American leaders! We are all people of color trying to make America a better place for families to worship, live, and work. Forget about your nationality or skin color. Forget about the misfortune of your ancestors. Forget about which side of the tracks you live on. Forget about if you use your brain or your brawn to earn a living. We should all focus on our Christian faith, and how we can live in unity! The Ten Commandments are a simplistic summation of living a holy and peaceful life. If your leaders aren’t promoting God, you need to find leaders who do! Wake up America and smell your $5 cup of coffee!
Politicians and the Media are igniting racism, suspicions, lies, deceit, and promoting constant controversy to make ratings. It’s all about money! Hate groups are everywhere, and hate comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Every time a crime is committed and if there are different colors of people involved in the offense, it is automatically racist until proven otherwise. Twenty-five unqualified people are yakking. The ones with the biggest mouth, the most clout, craziest ideas, and corruption is their middle name, are the loudspeakers America wants to listen too. Decent Americans are ignored. America needs real leaders, Godly leaders, who will stand up, speak out, and we need them now!
Oprah’s recent headline news is a good point. Too many voices were heard, and they weren’t the right voices. The racist card was pulled first. The second card yanked from the deck was obesity. Oprah’s like me, if we were taller, we wouldn’t be pleasingly plump. Heard that one all my life. I got thinking about what happened. If I were a storeowner, and had an item worth $38,000, I wouldn’t be parading it to every Cher, Barbra, or Tina. This action could induce a robbery, which would put consumers at risk for injury or death. Placing something that expensive on an open counter, is like saying, please rob me! Get over it Oprah, it was your ego that was bruised. We heard about this for days from every big mouth from Hollywood to Capitol Hill. Then Oprah retracts her allegation of discrimination. Point is, these were all silly stories, yet the Media played it out to be a real case of discrimination. Oprah’s drama created unnecessary division in our country! People are listening to the wrong leaders! Oprah, you’re still fabulous! Things just got out of hand…look at Egypt.
Pope Francis sent letters to Egypt hoping to bridge the religious gap. The Pope stressed let’s educate each other. The Pope prayed for Egypt. The Pope encourages all Catholics to pray for peace in America and worldwide, especially Egypt. These are the leaders we should follow. We need more Christians who will take a stand and lead the people, not divide the multitudes. Proverbs 28:2 - If a land is rebellious, its princes will be many; but with an intelligent and wise ruler, there is stability. Do we have too many princes and princesses governing our country?
America, we have to stop fighting, stop second-guessing, and stop accusing each other just to anger people for our own cause. We are inciting each other to bad works, not good works. We are discouraging each other, not encouraging each other. We hate and we don’t love. We are following the footsteps of Egypt! The handwriting is on wall, read it and weep! We need leaders who listen to God and then react. Instead, our leaders react and never listen to God. King Belshazzar called on his political clowns to solve a problem, but they couldn’t solve the problem. The queen said, talk to Daniel. Daniel is known for his wisdom. Daniel is a leader. America needs Daniels!
Daniel 5: King Belshazzar gave a great banquet for a thousand of his nobles, with whom he drank. Under the influence of the wine, he ordered the gold and silver vessels which Nebuchadnezzar, his father, had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, to be brought in so that the king, his nobles, his consorts, and his concubines might drink from them. When the gold vessels taken from the temple, the house of God in Jerusalem, had been brought in, and while the king, his nobles, his consorts, and his concubines were drinking wine from them, they praised their gods of gold and silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone. Suddenly, opposite the lamp stand, the fingers of a human hand appeared, writing on the plaster of the wall in the king’s palace. When the king saw the hand that wrote, his face became pale; his thoughts terrified him, his hip joints shook, and his knees knocked. The king shouted for the enchanters, Chaldeans, and diviners to be brought in. “Whoever reads this writing and tells me what it means,” he said to the wise men of Babylon, “shall be clothed in purple, wear a chain of gold around his neck, and be third in governing the kingdom.” But though all the king’s wise men came in, none of them could either read the writing or tell the king what it meant. Then King Belshazzar was greatly terrified; his face became pale, and his nobles were thrown into confusion. When the queen heard of the discussion between the king and his nobles, she entered the banquet hall and said, “O king, live forever! Do not let your thoughts terrify you, or your face become so pale! There is a man in your kingdom in whom is a spirit of the holy gods; during the lifetime of your father he showed brilliant insight and god-like wisdom. King Nebuchadnezzar, your father, made him chief of the magicians, enchanters, Chaldeans, and diviners. Because this Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar, has shown an extraordinary spirit, knowledge, and insight in interpreting dreams, explaining riddles and solving problems, let him now be summoned to tell you what this means.” Then Daniel was brought into the presence of the king. The king asked him, “Are you the Daniel, one of the Jewish exiles, whom my father, the king, brought from Judah? I have heard that the spirit of the gods is in you, that you have shown brilliant insight and extraordinary wisdom. The wise men and enchanters were brought in to me to read this writing and tell me its meaning, but they could not say what the words meant. But I have heard that you can give interpretations and solve problems; now, if you are able to read the writing and tell me what it means, you shall be clothed in purple, wear a chain of gold around your neck, and be third in governing the kingdom.” Daniel answered the king: “You may keep your gifts, or give your presents to someone else; but the writing I will read for the king, and tell what it means. The Most High God gave your father Nebuchadnezzar kingship, greatness, splendor, and majesty. Because he made him so great, the nations and peoples of every language dreaded and feared him. Whomever he willed, he would kill or let live; whomever he willed, he would exalt or humble. But when his heart became proud and his spirit hardened by insolence, he was put down from his royal throne and deprived of his glory; he was cast out from human society and his heart was made like that of a beast; he lived with wild asses, and ate grass like an ox; his body was bathed with the dew of heaven, until he learned that the Most High God is sovereign over human kingship and sets over it whom he will. You, his son, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, though you knew all this; you have rebelled against the Lord of heaven. You had the vessels of his temple brought before you, so that you and your nobles, your consorts and your concubines, might drink wine from them; and you praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, that neither see nor hear nor have intelligence. But the God in whose hand is your very breath and the whole course of your life, you did not glorify. By him was the hand sent, and the writing set down. “This is the writing that was inscribed: MENE, TEKEL, and PERES These words mean: MENE, God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it; TEKEL, you have been weighed on the scales and found wanting; PERES, your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians.” Then by order of Belshazzar, they clothed Daniel in purple, with a chain of gold around his neck, and proclaimed him third in governing the kingdom. That very night Belshazzar, the Chaldean king, was slain.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me discern the spirit, to see if it belongs to you. Please make us all color blind. Father, bring peace to Egypt.Amen
